RNC Chairman Michael Steele Acknowledges ‘Mistakes’ At SRLC
RNC Chairman Michael Steele gave his highly-anticipated Southern Republican Leadership Conference speech today. He delivered on an expected and much sought-after apology, but for most of his statement he chose to stick to a message of hard work, success, and a shared definition of prosperity slowly dwindling in a time of nearly-complete Democratic government.
Steele acknowledged the recent “mistakes” the national party organization committed with its funds, spending them at the now famous club Voyeur. And while he did give an earnest apology, he mostly focused the speech on the Republican ideal of the American dream, telling the crowd that “no one wakes up in America and looks into the mirror and says ‘all I want to be today is poor.'”
