In advance of his speech at the DNC Tuesday night, Fox News devoted a segment to cataloguing a list of Bill Clinton‘s blunders and, in doing so, made a large one themselves.
Mistaking “gaff” for “gaffe,” the segment’s producers effectively accused the 42nd president of having a number of massive barbed spears designed for the purpose of hooking and capturing large fish.
Whereas “gaff” refers to these handy fishing implements, “gaffe” means blunder, error, or mistake — as illustrated by the screengrab below:
