Trump Takes a Crack at Explaining What a Woman Is: ‘Easy to Answer…’
President Donald Trump took a crack at explaining, in his opinion, what defines women while speaking to reporters Friday at the White House.
Trump said womanhood was easy to pin down and complimented women as being the smarter of the sexes. He also explained a woman “can have a baby, under certain circumstances.”
The question of how to define women has been asked of transgender activists and their allies in recent years since far-right filmmaker and radio host Matt Walsh released What Is a Woman? in 2022.
The film featured Walsh asking feminists and transwomen what many on the right see as a trap question meant to stump people with views on gender that break from the mainstream.
Trump was asked the question Friday and said he found it “easy” to answer.
“Since Democrats seem to struggle answering this question, I want to ask you, a reporter asked him. “What is a woman and why is it important that we understand the difference between men and women?”
“Well, it’s sort of easy to answer for me, because a woman is somebody that can have a baby, under certain circumstances,” Trump responded. “She has a quality – a woman is a person who is much smarter than a man, I’ve always found. A woman is a person that doesn’t give a man even a chance of success.” He added:
A woman is a person that, in many cases, has been treated very badly because I think what happens with this crazy issue, this crazy issue of men being able to play in women’s sports is just ridiculous, and very unfair to women, and very demeaning to women.
Trump concluded, “We love our women.”
