Vance Rally Crowd Boos Local Fox Reporter for Asking If Trump’s ‘Aggressive Style’ Is Hurting Ticket

A local Fox reporter in Michigan was treated to a round of boos for asking Sen. JD Vance whether his running mate’s rhetoric is too “aggressive.”

As he did in 2016, former President Donald Trump has floated imprisoning his enemies and has made clear he will not accept the results of the election if he loses. Speaking at a rally in Auburn Hills, Michigan on Wednesday, Vance took questions from local press.

“Charlie Langton from Fox News WWJ here,” the Fox 2 Detroit reporter said. “I talked to a lot of people here. They all said you were very cordial last night in the debate, and the message got through. But compare your style to Donald Trump’s style, where he was a little aggressive. Do you think that Donald Trump’s message sometimes is lost because of his aggressive style?”

The crowd did not appreciate the question and rained down boos on Langton.

“I think first of all, there is a media caricature out there of Donald Trump that is so different from the man that I’ve come to know.  And I think that when he called me last night, you know what he said? He asked me how my wife was doing. And he said, you know, ‘You just had a hell of a debate. I’m sure that you were nervous. You had every right to be nervous, but go have a nice meal with your wife and go and enjoy this moment.’ Like, that’s the Donald Trump that I know.”

The audience applauded.

Vance went on to say that Trump is fully capable of slamming his political opponents on speaking to everyday Americans.

“And I love that Donald Trump can do both of those things at the same time.” the senator said. “He can go out there and talk to the American people and be warm and engaged.”
