WATCH: The Most Popular Late Night Clips of 2014

 


With more and more people watching late night television the morning after it airs, Nielsen ratings are becoming a less and less important measure of the big moments that are actually resonating with viewers. As 2014 comes to a close, we decided to look at the YouTube channels for 8 of the year’s biggest late night shows (leaving out The Daily Show and Colbert Report, which only host clips on their own sites) to see what the most-viewed clip was for each show.

The two Jimmys are the undisputed champs of late night virality, with each host posting multiple videos this year that reached into the tens of millions. But the way the rest of the list played out might just surprise you, with a certain British newcomer cracking the top three.
