The BBC appointed former GB News executive Erron Gordon as the new Head of Department for London, putting him at the helm of all the BBC’s news studios and several radio studios in the city.

“Delighted to finally share this news!” Gordon announced on social media.

Gordon’s extensive media background includes directing Piers Morgan Uncensored and serving as the executive creative director at the now online-only TalkTV, which shuttered its linear operations earlier this year after financial challenges.

Prior to that Gordon began his career in morning television, starting as a studio director at GMTV. In 2010, he transitioned to ITV where he managed the broadcaster’s Daybreak and Lorraine shows. His tenure in breakfast TV saw him launch the successful program Good Morning Britain in 2014, where he served as director for seven years.

His move to the BBC comes two years after John McAndrew, GB News’ founding editorial director, was brought on board as director of news programmes.
