Liberal Democrats’ Boat Photobombs Rishi Sunak Campaign Event In Henley-on-Thames
A campaign stop by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in Henley-on-Thames was interrupted by a stunt from Liberal Democrat deputy leader Daisy Cooper and the party’s campaigners who drove in the background the Conservative leader, in view of the media, while he addressed voters.
Sunak was speaking with female members of the riverside rowing club when the Liberal Democrats attempted to hijack the visit, waving bright orange placards from a boat on the river.
ITV News political correspondent Shehab Khan captured the moment, writing: “Don’t think Rishi Sunak was aware that a boat filled with Lib Dems popped up behind him on the campaign trail today…”
Despite the stunt, Sunak continued with his conversation, seemingly unaware of the interruption taking place behind him.
