Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is set to declare that the UK is entering “some of the most dangerous yet most transformational years” in its history as he plans to outline his vision for the upcoming general election, focusing on key global threats including war, migration, and technological advances.

Sunak’s address on Monday aims to pivot away from years of Conservative party strife and recent electoral losses, positioning the election as a pivotal election for Britain. He will argue that the country faces unprecedented changes over the next five years, which could redefine Britain’s role on the world stage and the daily lives of its citizens.

“I have bold ideas that can change our society for the better, and restore people’s confidence and pride in our country,” Sunak will say. “I’m convinced that the next few years will be some of the most dangerous yet most transformational our country has ever known.”

The Prime Minister aims to also highlight his controversial policy on migration, advocating for his plan to send asylum seekers to Rwanda, a stance sharply opposed by Labour.

Sunak will also underscore his leadership in international discussions on regulating artificial intelligence, pointing to his organisation of last year’s AI summit at Bletchley Park.

While not announcing an exact election date, Sunak is expected to hint at a timeline, with elections anticipated in the latter half of the year.
