Sky News Host Rips Tory Minister’s Shot At Labour’s ‘Wafer Thin’ 20-Point Poll Lead

Sky News host Kay Burley laughed off Conservative Pensions Secretary Mel Stride’s attempt to downplay the Labour Party’s growing lead in the election polls after he called the 20-point lead “wafer thin.”

Appearing on the Burley’s morning show to discuss current issues facing the government, the host turned attention to Labour and the upcoming General Election, which Prime Minister Rishi Sunak confirmed Tuesday would take place in 2024 and not 2025.

“If I was a Labour politician sitting here, I would not be saying it’s all in the bag, we’ve got this sort,” Stride said.

“They don’t [claim that],” Burley responded.

“They don’t, and they’re right not to, because that lead that they have, I think, is wafer thin. It’s not deep,” the minister continued.

“Twenty odd percent,” the hosted pressed.

“I’ve accepted that it’s wide…” Stride said.

The host mused: “How big are the wafers in your house?”

The minister responded: “I’ve accepted that it’s wide, but it is wafer thin.”

There it is. Wide but wafer thin, folks.
