Actor Dominic West, famed for his portrayal of Prince Charles in Netflix’s hit series The Crown, told Times Radio that his once close friendship with Prince Harry fell away after a press conference faux pas.
“We sort of [fell out of touch because] I said too much in a press conference, and so, we didn’t speak after that,” West said. “I think I was asked what we did to celebrate when we got there and probably said something too much.”
Although he did not go into specifics, Deadline revealed that the press conference in question occurred in 2014. At the time West shared details about an expedition that he and Prince Harry had been on in Antarctica with injured military veterans.
At the time the actor said that Prince Harry seemed to “specialise in building latrines.” West had humorously recalled using the prince’s handiwork: “Sitting there, looking at the beautiful view thinking ‘this is a royal flush, in every way.’”
