A clip of football legend David Beckham playfully mocking his wife Victoria Beckham’s claim to a “working class upbringing,” taken from a new Netflix documentary, went viral on Thursday.

The scene, in which Victoria is in the middle of a solo interview, appears as part of a four episode documentary series released Wednesday. Beckham examines the career of the beloved English footballer, his time at Manchester United and his family life. After 24 years of marriage, however, he wasn’t going to give his wife an easy time.

“We’re very, very working class,” Victoria says to the interviewer, but as she continues to talk David pokes his head through the door to challenge her.

“Be honest,” he interrupts. “What car did your dad drive you to school in?”

“I am being honest,” she protests. David repeats the question.

“It’s not a simple answer,” Victoria claims before relenting to her husband’s insistence. “OK, in the Eighties, my dad had a Rolls-Royce.”

Victoria met David when she was a member of British pop group the Spice Girls, one of the most popular bands of the 1990s. Famously, each member of the band had a nickname and persona. In the light of these revelations, then, it may be unsurprising to remember that Victoria’s was Posh Spice.
