WATCH LIVE: House Hearing On IRS Scandal With Targeted Tea Party Group Leaders

Tuesday morning, the House Ways and Means Committee will hold its fifth hearing with organizations targeted by the Internal Revenue Service for their conservative political beliefs.

The congressional panel’s Republican members will likely attempt to draw out dramatic stories about the tea party groups’ negative experiences with the tax collection agency’s review process. Leaders of the conservative groups will likely explain their difficulty in getting approval for 501(c)(4) status with the IRS, with complaints including files being “lost” and/or outright rejected despite similar progressive groups receiving tax exemption.
