In Israel, Freedom Of Speech Includes Freedom To Criticize
Israeli professor Neve Gordon published an op-ed in the Los Angeles Times urging a boycott on Israel. In response, the president of his university, Rivka Carmi, issued a statement strongly disagreeing with him. The New York Review of Books published an open letter from ten American scholars supporting Gordon and criticizing Carmi. They did not, however, publish this critical response to the open letter from constitutional lawyer Floyd Abrams:
