She’s probably one of those people who want to repeal the 14th amendment (my guess is she’d vote to repeal the 13th as well). Yet, she is, by all definitions, herself an anchor baby. And if the 14th were to be repealed and they didn’t grandfather so-called “anchor babies” in, she would be forced to leave.

The simple fact that a man may have been innocent but was killed shows the flaw of capital punishment.

1. What Alex Baldwin and his followers did was stupid. We all agree. But guess what Mr Conservative internet dweller ? This happens on both Left and Right. Remember the murder of the Abortion Doctor ? The defamatory rumours about Obama’s citizenship? The Westboro Baptist Church ? All products of right wing nuttery.

2. Troy Davis’s case was flawed. No physical evidence. No DNA. No Murder Weapon. Ballistics showed no guilt on Davis’s part. Witnesses came forward and cited police coercion. Many didn’t even see Davis. One of the witnesses was the secondary suspect, and had a gun of the same calibre used in the shooting. That is circumstantial evidence at best. THAT IS THE UPROAR. A man was executed without due process. The appeals set an unjustified high bar to exonerate but a low one to convict. Witnesses that was accepted was later labeled “unbeleivable” during appeal. Evidence couldn’t be admitted because “it was too late”.

The case became a mockery of justice. And the flaws in judicial procedure has been shown.

Anyone who had the opportunity to hear the facts about this “trial” would know that it was not a just judicial system that found him guilty. His trail was a mockery and many witnesses recanted their statements. In this situation how can many of you claim that just because he was found guilty he deserved to die? History is littered with examples of unfair trials, whether it was because of the defendant’s race or socioeconomic status (not being able to afford a good attorney, etc), and anyone who doesn’t believe that needs to stop being so naive. Also, why do so many of you feel the need to call him a “cop killer”? If he truly did kill someone, does it matter who it was? That being said, what Baldwin and his follwers did was wrong. FYI the family of the victim in that texas case did not want the death penatly for the killer of their loved one. also FYI the judicial system in not infallible. I believe OJ was guilty and I believe reasonable doubt exists with respect to troy davis’s guilt regardless of what the juries said.

My problem is that she used this mans death to get her usual supporters to jump to her side. She is literally using his death to garner publicity about her “controversial” opinion. It’s really messed up. 

It’s really scary to think someone might be exexcuted who was innocent… and even after he’s executed, you still have people like Malkin continuing to attack the person, even though she clearly isn’t an expert on the case… That said, if he was guilty I also feel bad the victims family, who is put in this strange position of people wanting to save Davis.

However, I do find it odd that when commentators on a web site make a racist comment, (or at least racial one in a failed attempt at humor), all Libs are racist.  But when talk radio hosts, (i.e. Lush Rimjob), make clear racist comments, almost on a daily basis, well that’s OK and none of the people who tune in daily are racist either.  And if I should attempt to point out when it occurs, I am criticized for being a racist!  For pointing out when others are making racist slurs, I have been accused of being the racist.  Not here, but it has happened.    I suppose Supply Side Racism is fine.

That one was cool with me because there was no shadow of doubt.  Troy Davis didn’t have corroborating foresnic evidence, and most of the so called eye witnesses recanted their story. What more do you need?
