Blackberry’s Massive Breakdown Explained (It Was Not AT&T’s Fault!)

Picture 1Ah ha! So this is what happened to my Blackberry last night…and shockingly it was not the fault of AT&T. That said, I have to assume that I was not the only one who blamed AT&T when my Blackberry suddenly inexplicably stopped working sometime around 7 last night, and stayed not working until some very early this morning.

Thank God for CNN who describes the breakdown — during the height of the holiday travel and shopping season — in suitably dramatic terms: “An electronic crisis for those addicted to email on the go, who live by what they call their crackberries….it was a COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN.” Also, do people still actually use the term crackberry? Isn’t not having one now just a sign that you are old?

What actually happened: Apparently it was a flaw in two recently versions of Blackberry messenger, that caused an “unanticipated database issue.” Yeah, whatever, short version is it is not AT&T’s fault. Call it a Christmas miracle. CNN explanation below:
