Celebrate Elvis’ 75th Birthday With Myriad Magazine Covers
Today is Elvis Presley’s 75th birthday, and fans from all over are doing various things to mark the occasion. For Robert Newman, this meant compiling 20 choice Elvis magazine covers. One’s pictured above, with more after the jump.
People went crazy for his 60th birthday, too.
The good old print media days, when multiple magazines could be devoted to one person.
Remember when Elvis got older and fatter? LOL! Jokes about that era are still fresh, right?
Weekly World News no longer has a print edition. It’s a crime, really.
Speaking of crimes, it would have been one to end on that last cover. So here’s one with Elvis looking his most King-like. A gaze like that goes a long way toward explaining why people are still agog over him so many years later.
Robert Newman has served as the design director of several magazines, including Fortune, Entertainment Weekly, and New York. His Facebook page can be found here.
