Dallas Tea Party Viral Video Fires Back At Keith Olbermann

You know, in hindsight, it is sort of stunning that no one has done anything like this sooner. Responding to recent criticisms made by Countdown host Keith Olbermann that the Tea Party movement effectively had no diversity amongst its ranks, the Dallas Tea Party organization has produced a remarkably effective video response. Not only does the video feature a number of men and women of color, but it also highlights the remarkable lack of diversity on MSNBC’s line-up. Judge not, lest ye be judged?

According to Michael Calderone at Politico, Keith Olbermann has declined the invitation. “I appreciate their invitation but with my Dad still in intensive care all this time, I have been only able to leave New York one night in the last six months,” Olbermann tells POLITICO in an email.

How many blacks work at Mediaite, the Huffington Post or the Daily Kos? (and please, don’t count the mail room!)

  • writer

But, Olby will argue, those black people aren’t “real” black people. According to the far left, Clarence Thomas and Michael Steele aren’t ‘real’ blacks. Colin Powell didn’t used to be ‘real’. In fact, when he was working for Bush, many on the left referred to him as a ‘slave’ or a ‘house ni**er’. Colin wasn’t left alone till he moved farther left. In other words, if a black man wears a suit and tie and speaks proper English, the left doesn’t consider him to be ‘real’. Their stereotype of a ‘real’ black man is more akin to Snoop Dogg…lots of ‘bling’ and gold teeth. And people on the right are the racists?????

  • tjl

Yes, writer, people on the right are racists. Sorry bro! I’d love to see where people on the left called Colin Powell “house nigger.” I’ll make sure to scold them in our next meeting. But just give me names and we’ll get that ball rolling.

Also, Clarence Thomas is a black man, no dispute. He chases young black “rear” like any good black man should. And Mike Steele, dude talks jive, right? He said it himself — called himself a “jive talker” (so I’ll wait for the ‘you call us racist, that’s the most racist thing I’ve ever heard’ response). What about that Obama fella that the left elected. His gold teeth are legit, right! What’s that Harvard and Columbia shit all about, though? I’m down with him smoking weed (once) and doing cocain (a white man’s drug), but I’m still trying to dig up some dirt on how he ended up killin BOTH Biggie and Tupac. Once I write that paper then he’ll officially be black in my leftist mind. Dress Obamba up in a suit and tie, speaks “proper” English, and to think all along I thought we had a black president. Writer, you are a peach! Thanks for the lesson, bro!

But get psyched, Beetlejuice (of Howard Stern fame) is a teabagger!!!

  • The Real Royal King

TJL, please, a bit of empathy. Azarkhan and Writer must bear the terrible weight of being white males in America. The abject prejudice against white males in America is well known.

  • writer

Yeah, and even Obama’s own vice president said Obama is clean and articulate. And Harry Reid said Obama is actually able to switch back and forth between regular and ‘Negro’ dialect. And Chris Matthews said that Obama is so articulate, he ‘sometimes forgets he’s black’. Are Biden, Reid, and Matthews right wingers? Where’s all your outrage whenever the left reveals their racism? Huh?

  • writer

Speaking of racism, the white hating Racist Royal King chimes in.

  • writer

And tjl, that was Harry Belafonte who referred to Colin Powell as a house n*****. I know you hate white people, but Harry is half black, so give him a break.

  • The Real Royal King

I don’t know what your age is Writer, but I am well into my middle age, and I can attest that during my entire life, to date, I have never felt even the slightest tinge of racism directed at me. I dare say few, if any, white males in America ever have. As a result, I am always amazed at the constant whining engaged in by Azarkhan and you. It rings shrill and fraudulent.

  • writer

Just pointing out your own racism, Racist Royal. Martin Luther King said to look at character, not color. Now look at your posts where you’re always pointing out the evils of (White) people. Now look at posts where I’ve tried to get you to discuss Jesse Jackson’s ties to violent criminal Jeff Fort and El Rukn. If you go out of your way to ignore criminal activity when it’s committed by blacks, then you’re not looking at character, you’re looking at color. By the way, the Bio channel is featuring Jeff Fort this Friday. Knew you’d want to tune in.

  • tjl

I’d love to try and defend Reid, Biden and Matthews, but I can’t. And I’m not even going to try and defend Olbermann. It’s not my job. I believe we outsource that position here on the left.

As for outrage, here we go: WHAT!?? THOSE DICKS!! AHH!!

But if you’re trying to say that there aren’t racists on the right or even racist factions within the Tea Party than you’re in a serious state of denial. Your friend on the right, Mr. O’Reilly, will tell you as much. So yes, there are racists on the right. And unless you can give me a headcount of every right-winger and prove to me that each and every one of you are NOT racist, then I will go on believing as much.

Oh, and Azarkhan, I did a little research. There are 17 black people employed by Mediaite, Huff-Po, and Daily Kos. Just for your reference. I know that all three outlets have been trying to purify their staff, but some have slipped through (Arianna…. Aryan…. Interesting???)

  • tjl

Writer, I only HATE half of Harry Belafonte. His black half is smooth as hell. His white half… meh.

  • Azarkhan

Actually Royal, it is you who “bear the terrible weight of being a white male” with your abject groveling to blacks and other minorities.

I’m proud to be white (well, actually, I’m half Hispanic, but don’t hold that against me) and I have no guilty feelings whatsoever. I sleep very well at night, thank you.

You, on the other hand, have been emasculated with your terrible feelings of “white guilt” and the idea that whites have to continually pay for all the world’s sins.

I suggest that you and whites like you begin “paying” immediately by resigning your well-paying jobs so that a minority can replace you. If you like, I’ll be happy to write that resignation letter for you!

  • Azarkhan

tjl, 17 out of how many total staff?

  • writer

Never said there aren’t racists on the right, tjl. But like you, I’ll assume that every person on the left is a racist, and hold that belief till you do a head count and prove it otherwise. And props for only hating Harry’s white half.

  • tjl

Maybe 18, though. Tommy Christopher must be black — any guy who has the balls to talk to Andrew Breitbert with his penis hanging out must be black.

I believe it’s 17 out of 419 — that’s a give and take, though. I asked one friend at Huff-Po and he asked me to add the black guy who holds the door for him when he enters the HP offices, but I’m not going to. I think he’s just trying to get the total of employees up to 420.

And I’ll take you up on that offer of writing my resignation letter to my high paying job so that a black man can have it. I always thought Motown was making a mistake by having me fill in as the 4th Top — that’s a black man’s gig.

  • writer

BTW Racist Royal, in college I played in a rock band consisting of three black guys and three white guys. My step-daughter’s dating a Mexican-American, and I think Reshma Shetti is the prettiest gal on TV. I was stunned to learn that simply because I hold conservative views, I’m a virulent racist.

  • tjl

Writer, I did a headcount and apparently some guy named Real Royal Kings is the only racist on the left. He denies it, but I called some of his references and one guy named “writer” called him “Racist Royal” and his other reference named “Azarkhan” said he was “unable to bear the weight of being a white male.” So either he’s lying to me or he needs to get better references.

Seriously, though, I will do a headcount and present it to you like they do at the Academy Awards when they remember those who’ve passed away. “We acknowledge the following racists on the left” (please hold applause until the end of our program)

  • tjl

Whoa whoa whoa!!! Writer, your step-daughter is dating a Mexican-American??? What kind of step-father are you? And seriously, what was the name of your band. Not because I want to do a creepy Google search for it, but because I hope that you guys used your half-black, half-whiteness to your advantage when naming it. “Three Blacks Don’t Make a White” would have been good.

And I’m not racist because my favorite bands are Living Colour, TV On The Radio, and I’ve been known to listen to Black Metal (oh…wait…)

  • writer

I’ll try to remember to thank the little people and hold my speech to under an hour. I, too, shall work on my list, but will pass up any houses having a ‘Beware of Dog’ sign.

  • writer

tjl, maybe you and Racist Royal could go to therapy together for your self-loathing. Maybe get a group discount.

  • Azarkhan

tjl-my math may be wrong but isn’t that 4%? I think you better count the doorman.

  • Zakk

Back to the story at hand; Olbermann and MSNBC just got owned by the Texas Tea Party. Oh, wait, isn’t that what this post was about?

  • writer

It’s still concerning Olbermann labeling anyone who disagrees with him a racist. But it is wandering a bit, like Mark Twain’s story ‘His Grandfather’s Old Ram’.

  • tjl

    I thought GE owned MSNBC?

Olbermann thinks anyone who isn’t Tiki Barber is a racist. I saw them pallin’ around on the UES.

    The doorman is in!

  • Olby Sucks

Using his dad as an excuse? Pathetic!

  • Grammie

Writer, I do think you hit a nerve there.

I have one question, though. Are all of those 17 REAL blacks or do they include any Aunt Jemima Condi Rices, lawn jockey Juan Williamses or Uncle Thomas oreo Clarence Thomases? That seems to very important to the libs.

So, are you prepared to certify that every one of them is an authentic true blue (is that OK to use) black?

  • writer

I was torn during the last presidential election. Do I vote for Obama’s white half, or against his black half? Let’s split the difference.

  • ChrisNH

There’s another reason why Olbermann has left New York City only once in the past six months: He wants to live.

  • writer

    What a wanker

  • Grammie

    You are so right, Zukk.

You would think that by now I knew the libs playbook better than to get played so badly today.

Putting aside his professional persona I can certainly sympathize with his having just lost his mother and his father being so ill and in the hospital for so long. I know the demands and toll it takes from many years of personal experience. My Mama just died in my home a few years ago at age 100.

That being said he obviously is not confined to his dad’s bedside and leads an active professional life. He started it and the group of people he so viciously maligned have now called him on it. If he can’t make it this weekend I am sure they would be willing to hold a special meeting just for him.

Nope, he’s just being his normal KOKOKlown self. I have never seen or heard of his meeting anyone that he attacks ever, anytime, anywhere.

  • tjl

Grammie, I’m sorry about your loss. And I’m also sorry that your Mama died. Truly. I would be all for Olbermann taking his dad with him. His bed must have wheels, right? Then he can be at his bedside while counting the black people at the Dallas Tea Party. Beetlejuice, a half black guy with a pony-tail, a hispanic woman (in Texas?? go figure) and… um… an Italian? Diversity at its best!

And Grammie, I have certified their blackness. Each man has a child out of wedlock and each woman has had an abortion. I believe that should do it, right?

To be fair, Olbermann has been seen with people he attacks. There are actually pictures of Olbs and his girlfriend. And he attacks dat ass every night! I’m ovah here now!

  • gunclinger

Once again, Olbermann is shown to be the pompous liberal moron he’s always been. Check out this video from the 2008 RNC – another classic

To whom much is given, much is owed. I have been given much. Faith. A good education. Abundant opportunities. What is so inherently wrong with me wanting to give back, particularly to those whose gifts have been mean and meager? Why does this make me a bad person in the eyes of Writer, TfT, Azarkhan, Grannie and Johnny-Jeff? I am sure each and every one of you had a richness of gifts throughout your lives. I am sure each and every one of you were loved, and that you were truly hated and despised by few, if any. You do understand that when you hoard any good quality, faith, grace, love, charity, intelligence, you don’t preserve them, you lose them? Life is not a game to see how many jars of sour pickles are left in your pantry when you are gone. All of these qualities grow and enrich you, when you share them. Why is it so awful to want the abundant and abiding gifts of our great nation shared? Aren’t we a greater nation still when all are enriched and empowered? You are all such a mystery to me. Miserly misfits mouthing merely “Me! Me! Me!” as if the first person had no plural, as if “me” might be diminished if part of “we”. It’s very said, indeed, and is the reason so many good and decent Americans disavow post-Raygun conservatism. You are welcome to any and all of my pickles.

  • tjl

gunclinger, Newt is right! There is no way that Obama character is EVER going to be president! Definitely a classic, bro.

Danny Glover says Cuba is nice. Olby could go there.

Cuba is indeed lovely. A bit of deterioration and decay and a really rotten government. Rotten in the since of repression. I should think many of you would enjoy that. Of course, it has a higher literacy rate and a lower infant mortality rate than most US states. I guess I have to reject the notion that only a repressive government can provide such “amenities” much as I have to reject the notion than a nation which does is necessarily repressive. Sounds as if the Cubans can learn from us, and we from the Cubans.

Well said, RRK. I anxiously await the right’s “dick joke” response.

gunclinger, Newt is right! There is no way that Obama character is EVER going to be president! Definitely a classic, bro.

I’ve been told that the Super Delegates will never allow Obama to be nominated; that if he is nominated, the Clinton people will walk away; that Palin will energize the Republican party and draw disaffected Clinton women away; that McCain will win Pennsylvania and Michigan and hold onto all the W states, coasting to a popular vote and electoral majority; that the Electors will never allow Obama to be president; that no Supreme Court justice will swear in Obama as president; that one of the hundreds of law suits filed by Don O. Fritos or Orly Taitz, Dentisit, Extenstion School Attorney, Real Estate Agent and Wig Model, will force President Obama out of office. Have I missed anything?

  • tjl

Nope, I think you got it. And now that Obama has all their guns (why does one man need so many guns?) there’s no way this guy is ever going to NOT be our president. He’ll change the term limits to read “until I die.”

  • Olby Sucks

faux royal king, you nailed all of the far left talking points. Here’s a cookie…

  • JimW

The Real Royal Pain in the Ass: “I have been given much. Faith. A good education. Abundant opportunities.” What a lie! The guy’s a nasty psychotic probably just released from jail.

  • tjl

and with that, Jim W, the warning is out there. Watch your butthole. He’s coming after you first! Bwahhahaha!

  • The Real Royal King

In my life, Jim W, I have been forgiven for my transgressions, and I forgive you yours. Forgiving is giving. See how this works? Isn’t grace great!

  • The Real Royal King

Might I recommend that you make a counted cross-stitch pillow case with “Forgiving Is Giving” on it? You would go to sleep in the knowledge and wake up in that knowledge. You have my permission to use the truism. Not adept at counted cross-stitching. Johnny-Jeff can help you.

  • Azarkhan

Royal, everytime I read one of your posts, I discover a new meaning for the expression “pompous ass”.

Now, quite frankly, I don’t care what you do with your pathetic life or your (what was the word you used?) “pickles”.

It is when you start to impose on the rest of us your sanctimonious bull shit or your own feelings of inadequacy or your seemingly desperate need to kiss every black ass you meet, that I begin to have a problem.

Because you see, I didn’t grow up with anything special. And my grandparents moved to America. Perhaps your ancestors had slaves, and you feel you have to atone for that. I don’t know and I don’t care. Just keep your whiney ass white guilt trip to yourself.

And I know this will be difficult, but please recognize that we are not in the America of 1960, when there were real race problems. This is actually 2010, and America not only has a black President, but blacks at every strata of society, at every level of wealth. In other words, blacks are just like whites.

Why does the left always feel the need to tally up colors to begin with?

You misstated the need. The need is to call out racism, in all it forms, aggressively. To tolerate intolerance is to be intolerant.

  • felixw

Hey Keith, live by the race card, and you get outplayed by the race card. My advice to Mr. Olbermann and the other white people at MSNBC: quit obsessing about the color of people’s skin, and you won’t open yourself up to these responses. But if you constantly assert that viewpoints can be invalidated simply by the lack of melanin pigmentation among those who espouse them, then you have just negated your own talking points. Touche!

  • Azarkhan

So Royal, where was your voice when the white New Haven firefighters were discriminated against?
Oh right, that discrimination was OK because they are white.

You really are fucking pathetic. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have more important things to do then deal with your hypocrisy.

  • Grammie

If that’s your criteria what can I say other than that’s a pretty sorry exhibition of racist stereotyping just to avoid admitting that libs have their very own brand of demeaning racism when it comes to conservative blacks.

I’ll take that as a concession that you only see racism in others and are blind to your very own cherished form of racism. However, I would be ashamed to throw the charge around so lightly while being so smug about my own.

  • silkworm

I am sure we will here from KO on this tonight. He has been called out but he will not respond properly. He will do some stupid (as stupid does) comment, but in the end he will have no balls.

  • The Real Royal King

By my leave, you’re excused, Azarkan.

I know New Haven has become a cause célèbre for those who cling to reverse discrimination. I do think, ultimately, the resolution was the correct one. New Haven did recognize a long history of discrimination against African-Americans which resulted in an unlevel playing field. They were right to recognize that, and they were right to seek a solution. I applaud that. I do think they took the wrong path here, however. The correct solution is not to go around screaming “Reverse Discrimination” as if these firefighters had ever suffered real discrimnation to begin with, but to seek meaningful solutions involving education and incentives.

Of course, the firefighters are also sympathetic. And, it’s hard to imagine a white firefighter refusing to save an African-American child in a burning building, or vice-verse. But what about institutional inequality and discrimination in a police department. We have abundant evidence that real, substantial racism exists in many police departments in America. And, we know that racism has manifest itself in Africa-Americans being disproportionately accused and prosecuted for crimes and in crimes against African-Americans being disproportionately uninvestigated and unprosecuted. Might a better case for a more aggressive approach to affirmative action, to inclusiveness be made in this instance? I don’t know the answer (which, of course, is something you’d never admit to), but I can see an issue of merit and significance in this instance.

  • The Real Royal King

Perhaps, Grannie, you and Azarkahn, Writer, TfT and Michelle ought to organize a demonstration in front of the Lincoln Memorial giving us a point-by-point demonstration, in splendid oratory, detailing, bemoaning and roiling against the great and bitter discrimination suffered by white people all across America and throughout our history. I’ll be pleased to assist by sending a box of ballpoint pins to the Drop Out Governor of Alaska and an eraser to Glen(n) Beck. No doubt the oratory would soar, with far more content and beauty than anything Dr. King could have ever offered, for the cause is so much greater. We all know whites in America have suffered mightily under the yoke of oppression and discrimination, and African-Americans hardly at all.

Yes, Royal. Cuba is a paradise. From videos I’ve seen, the people drive all those neat cars from the fifties. But I digress. The left will never be satisfied. For example, when white police patrol black neighborhoods, we’re told that’s unfair. No way they can understand the black experience. But if we were to put only black policemen in black neighborhoods, that would be called racism. When there’s an all white fraternity, that’s racism. When there’s an all black fraternity, that’s black pride. If you prevent a black man from getting a job because of his color, that’s racism. If you deny a white man a job because of race, that’s affirmative action. If you point out criminal activity by whites, that’s justice. If you ignore criminal activity by blacks, that’s enlightenment. In all of Racist Royal’s posts where he goes out of his way to denigrate (White) people (I’m sure you’ve all noticed the use of ( ) when Royal is singling out white behavior) then couldn’t this constant belittlement of one particular race to the exclusion of the others be considered racism?

  • The Real Royal King

Hey, Johnny-Jeff, I don’t follow Olbermann closely enough to know. He may well be. I dislike him and his show. I suppose what is most important is: I, unlike you and the others at the PHOX Fan Klub are not obsessed with him.

I do have a question for you: If Olbermann is such a miserable failure, doomed to obscurity, why does create and spend all of his working life running a site named after Olbermann and another site which devotes a significant amount of time to Olbermann? And, a follow-up: Why do the handful of posters at these sites devote so much time and energy talking about Olbermann? You must all be terribly concerned about him. I think you’re over-estimating him, Johnny-Jeff, but Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Syndrome is an odd duck.

I’ll venture a guess that he will eventually be kicked off here. He came close to it at News Hounds for God’s sake and he agrees with their mission, method and philosophy.

I was wondering when he would show up. I suspect it was Tina’s comment at J$P that drew him like a fly to rotten meat. If he stays long we’ll soon have lots of little maggots writhing around.

  • The Real Royal King

Grannie, do you mind if I call you “Oma”? It’s more endearing than “Grannie”, and “Grammie” is just to personal for me.

Oma, you must surely realize that not everyone shares your belief that Johnnie-Jeff is the fount of all wisdom in the Western World and a masterful writer who ought to have won the Nobel Prize for Literature, but, alas, did not because of the absurd requirement that the author be required to properly conjugate regular verbs in the present tense in his or her native language? Instead, we know Johnny-Jeff as a simple man, with simple tastes and simple pleasures and simple interests. And, what is wrong with that, may I ask?

Now, go back to the Klub and whine and moan about people you consider trolls, i.e. anyone who disagrees with you or Johnnie-Jeff.

  • Grammie

Yep, but it was Flucker/Philby in his On the Mark suit at J$P.

That was a hoot, OS. He was at an Olbermann love blog based on leaving love notes for KOKOKlown called Atta Boy, Keith.

Surprise, surprise surprise but he accused The Gang of Five (remember that blast from the past) of being Marxist free speech Commies at J$P and OW and ruining the sites except we had already ruined it by our nasty stupidity.

We all know the drill. He’s even repeating stories here that he had already regaled us with.

  • The Real Royal King

Why haven’t you answered Mr. Glenn Bovine Koldys’ question, Johnny-Jeff? Here’s my theory: You are unable to address the issue of Olbermann head-on, so you divert. When you divert, you get yourself in trouble (unable to focus without prompting), then you get confronted, and you divert, again. Well, Oma always comes to your aid. I’m glad you have that. Er, her.

Gunclinger, sorry I didn’t respond earlier, I was at work. But where were we…. right! I don’t have a job as you said. But that’s OK, I get a monthly check from Obama and the welfare office. YOUR tax dollars at work. I usually use the money on coke and hookers — hey, it’s free money baby!

Anyway…. I love you. Think you’re great. But also think you’re an idiot. My absence makes you sad, but what can I do, baby. I gots friends and a life to live. I’ll come check back from time to time because I know you look forward to reading my responses. By the way, I bet I know where you live. I bet I doooo….

So, what do I say about banks that I haven’t said?

I am a person who is losing faith in the American people fast. I love the country but it’s scary to see how badly everyone is acting of late. I moved to an Ultra Conservative city in Colorado and it’s astonishing to me how rude people are when it comes to politics. We are country with the right to think for ourselves and we should be able to carry our own opinion without harassment.
Personally I think the tea party is scary. I think their are racists on both sides, I think people stand behind a label to easily such as Liberal or Conservative. Shame on you guys. Fight for our country and stop carrying about which party is winning or losing. Stand by your fellow American regardless of party label, religious label or even race label. We need each other more than ever and with that we also need better education. When you hear something that concerns you, research it. Don’t assume that your favorite media celeb is right. Don’t assume the one you hate is lying. But most of all, stop, shut up, and listen and then research it yourselves. Learn as much as you can and then act. I once was a democrat who is now against the idea of the parties because we stand up and support them regardless of what they are doing. I am open to all and I realize there are issues on both sides. There are liars, racists and yes stupid morons on both sides. Corrupt, slimmy and willing to sell us to whoever. But there are also individuals who are trying to do their best, they make mistakes but they are overall honest and maintain the intentions. I am so tired of hearing about family values from conservatives when their children are on meth and cutting themselves while my child is just trying to make it thru high school without incidents. Yes there are liberal’s childrens doing the same. The difference is, at work I hear mouth full’s from conservatives about the good ole family values, church and so on. They don’t practice what they preach. 3 of their children are having major issues and the team suffers because we have to support their timeoff for counselling and doctor appointments. We all have issues and most of us regardless of labels have good values. But things happen, so we shouldn’t judge one another based on a right or left label. Ridiculous!
