Debate Viewers Break the Tension by Imagining a Lovely Duet Between Trump and Clinton
After last night’s extremely contentious showdown between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, debate viewers were probably in real need of some levity to break through the awkward tension. Fortunately, that’s what the internet is for, and they delivered in the form of #debatesongs.
Throughout much of the town hall, Clinton and Trump circled the stage as they stared each other down and took questions from the audience. While some people said that this only made the debate more confrontational, numerous Twitter users seized upon a picture from the debate, and re-envisioned it as if Trump and Clinton were in the middle of singing a charming musical number together:
trump: we gonna bop bop bop bop to the top
clinton: slip and slide and ride that rhythm pic.twitter.com/6WrXfbig0n
