Donald Trump Has Issued Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month Proclamation

Today, President Donald Trump announced this coming month as Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month.
“At the heart of our country is the emphatic belief that every person has unique and infinite value. We dedicate each April to raising awareness about sexual abuse and recommitting ourselves to fighting it. Women, children, and men have inherent dignity that should never be violated,” the proclamation says.
It continues, “My Administration, including the Department of Justice and the Department of Health and Human Services, will do everything in its power to protect women, children, and men from sexual violence. This includes supporting victims, preventing future abuse, and prosecuting offenders to the full extent of the law.”
Trump is continuing a tradition President Barack Obama started back in 2009. And, regardless of who is in office, it’s important. Trump, however, has been accused of sexual assault multiple times. He’s denied the allegations. Understandably, lots of people took to Twitter to share their feelings on the proclamation:
Well, Trump did prompt a lot of discussion about sexual assault so I guess he has helped with awareness, in his own way. https://t.co/zNnlzYYxbf

Trump proclaiming “Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month” is a good time to remember that he bragged about serial sexual assault.

Sexual Assault Awareness Month begins tomorrow. Our current president has been accused of sexually assaulting 16 women. My heart is broken.
