Dr. Oz Finds “Unhealthiest American” — More Than 8,000 People Applied
Out of the more than 8,000 people nominated for Dr. Oz‘s “Unhealthiest American” special by their friends, spouses, and children, we have a winner: this guy named Steve. Insert snarky comment about how Americans are overweight and it’s so much better in Europe here.
From Dr. Oz’s website:
Yes, Steve brings up the scary part of American healthcare; he has problems with all 4 (or all 5) of the major drivers of healthcare use in the United States: tobacco, poor food choices and large portion size, physical inactivity, and stress. These have resulted in the early onset of a number of really risky conditions including sleep apnea, type II diabetes, lipid abnormalities, and lung and vascular (blood vessel) inflammation.
Yikes! Fortunately, Steve will soon be keeping a food diary and eating regular breakfasts, so everything should be OK soon.
