Hillary Clinton Laughed Off Her Last Coughing Fit with a Marijuana Joke

Democratic presidential nominee and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been known to go off on a coughing jag now and again, which she’s learning to deal with in humorous ways. At a rally in Cleveland on Labor Day, Hillary created quite a stir on Twitter with a four-minute coughing fit that she joked was an “allergic reaction” to talking about Donald Trump. In April, though, Hillary experienced another more brief coughing fit while appearing on popular New York morning radio show The Breakfast Club, and played it off by wishing she had some “medicinal”:

Host: You’re coughing like you got some medicinal.

Hillary: I need some.

“Medicinal,” in this context, refers to medical marijuana. Actually, I think “medicinal” is only ever used to describe marijuana anymore.
