‘I Think an Apology Is in Order’: Joe Scarborough Baffled by Howard Dean’s Cocaine Tweet
Despite the fact that former Presidential candidate Howard Dean is a frequent guest and contributor to MSNBC’s Morning Joe, the host of the show this morning was clearly baffled with the former’s recent assertion that maybe — just maybe — Donald Trump has a casual cocaine problem.
The issue stemmed from a bizarre Tweet that Dean fired off in the middle of Monday night’s debate between Trump and Hillary Clinton, making reference to the consistent stream of sniffles emanating from the Republican candidate on stage.
Notice Trump sniffing all the time. Coke user?

Although Scarborough and others on Morning Joe said that Dean was both a guest and a friend of theirs, they were largely perplexed by the former Vermont Governor’s stand Monday night.
“What in the world?” asked Scarborough confusingly Wednesday morning after playing a clip of Dean doubling down on his hypothesis. “We know Howard, [we] like Howard. What in the world is going on?”
Scarborough noted that Howard Dean is also a doctor. “A doctor? Diagnosing a coke problem because a guy was sniffing? My poor 8-year-old son, I’m going to have to do drug tests now because he gets the flu once a month.”
Bloomberg’s Mark Halperin added, “I couldn’t believe the Tweet; I thought he had been hacked.”
“I think an apology is in order,” Scarborough concluded before the whole panel admitted that all hell would have broken loose if a surrogate of Donald Trump had made the same allegation against Hillary Clinton.
