Newt Gingrich Security Team Reportedly Stomps A Ron Paul Supporter, Kicks Away His Flip-Flop

Eddie Dillard, a loyal supporter of Ron Paul, was met with opposition Monday at a Baptist Church in Windermere, Florida. The source? Newt Gingrich‘s security team.

Yahoo!’s Chris Moody reports that Dillard, decked out in a “Ron Paul Rocks America” T-shirt and wielding a “Ron Paul 2012″ sign, became a target for Gingrich’s security personnel when he refused to move from one of Gingrich’s Primary Day campaign stops.

Dillard’s opposing signage was, apparently, too close to Gingrich and his wife Callista, so security attempted to nudge Dillard out of the way. Dillard held his ground until security decided to take action. Moody writes:

Gingrich aides and security personnel swarmed Dillard, trying to intimidate him into moving. One of Gingrich’s security agents stepped in front of him. When Dillard didn’t budge, the agent lifted his heeled shoe over Dillard’s bare foot and dug the back of it into his skin, twisting it side-to-side like he was stomping out a cigarette

Dillard attempted to photograph the action but his phone was knocked out of his hand. One Gingrich campaign aide shouted, “Just block him! …Everyone step on his toes!” Then Gingrich supporters proceeded to hand Dillard a “Newt 2012″ sign. The greatest indignity of the entire episode? According to Moody, “Dillard slipped off his flip-flop to pick up the phone with his foot, and a Gingrich supporter kicked the sandal away.”

Maybe it was a payback stomp for Rand Paul’s goons stepping on that lady’s head last year.

Fundamentally wrong to wear flip flops to church.

If this is what Gingrich would do to people of opposing viewpoints- image him as our President.

    SCARY!

Thank you!  You don’t even have to say it was a Ron Paul supporter.  The fact that he was wearing flip flops tells you all you need to know.

Sounds like an episode from a sitcom.  Some troublemaker insists on interfering with a competitors campaign event and ‘claims’ the crowd was instructed to stomp on his foot (even while they apparently were trying to hand him a Gingrich sign) and while his foot is being ground into the asphalt he loses his phone, then his flip flop.   I wonder what happened to his ‘stash’.

That’s how the Nazi’s did it.  Florida has battery laws that would ensure an investigation and documentation.  A citizen should be treated with more respect than that.

Strange considering the right’s extreme love for the flip-flop.

It’s called Florida and 70 degree weather.  If you have ever been there you might know.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Do/1082524294 Steven Do

You’re right.  I only wear American flags fashioned as diapers to church.  If they’re gonna treat me like a baby I might as well act like one.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Do/1082524294 Steven Do

No, the Nazis bombed their own parliament building and called it terrorism.

You’re right. Should have gone with the sleeveless flannel shirt and the clodhoppers. He’d have blended right in!

  • bugspotter24

Yeah, that about sounds like the kind of people who would “protect” a chickenhawk from the threat of a Constitution-supporter.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Do/1082524294 Steven Do

It wasn’t anyone on Rand’s payroll.  I guess he should be responsible for every one of his supporters.  You have a brain, start using it.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Do/1082524294 Steven Do

Constitution?  What is that?  Must be another myth, kind of like Poseidon, Zeus or Hitler.

  • Anonymous

Interfering? He stood in one spot and held a sign. The article said he refused to move. Sounds more like the campaign event interfered with him standing there minding his own business holding a sign. Sounds like Newt’s posse didn’t like his free speech and wanted to prescribe their own. (First Amendment. You can look it up!)

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Do/1082524294 Steven Do

“I wonder what happened to his ‘stash’” Newt smoked it and threw him in jail for posessing a plant.  God Bless America…. P R O U D

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Do/1082524294 Steven Do

No biggie, just another ETHICS VIOLATION, Newt has plenty of experience with that, I am sure he’ll survive.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Do/1082524294 Steven Do

Interfering with a campaign on a PUBLIC STREET?  How does that work?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Do/1082524294 Steven Do

He’s obviously a terrorist.  Off to Guantanamo with him!

  • Anonymous

Right.  Try holding a “I Miss George” sign feet away from Obama at a campaign event and see what happens.

  • Anonymous

The sad part is that I can’t think any less of Newt for this. I don’t think there’s anything Newt could do short of a genocide that would make me think less of him.

  • Anonymous

That doesn’t sound like any sitcom.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Do/1082524294 Steven Do

Right.  So much for the Constitution and freedom of speech. You just proved my point, thanks.

  • Anonymous

Your welcome.  Just because it isn’t against the law doesn’t mean it isn’t stupid.

  • Anonymous

Since we’re speaking in hypotheticals, I’ll tell exactly what would happen. I’d be laughed at. Ridiculed, maybe, pointed at certainly, but thats it. No violence, no anger, just laughs. Because it would be completely hilarious. But you’re assumption gives you a reason to defend these gangsters. So carry on with your irrational fear.

Now tell me why your hypothetical is more realistic than mine.

  • Anonymous

Right, because it’s not like liberals have their share of disgusting starchildren.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Do/1082524294 Steven Do

Right, next we should make opinions illegal.  Unpopular speech has nothing to do with the 1st amendment.

“Freedom of speech is the freedom to speak freely without censorship.
The term freedom of expression is sometimes used synonymously, but
includes any act of seeking, receiving and imparting information or
ideas, regardless of the medium used.”

Liberals?  Conservatives?  All just labels, semantics which means nothing.  Where are the people with the common sense?  What do they call them?

  • http://iamwallis.tumblr.com iamwallis

Because we all know Jesus wore Nike High Tops.

  • http://iamwallis.tumblr.com iamwallis

Yep because God is only accepting people with dress shoes these years. I guess Jesus and everyone during that time and for millenia wearing sandals is nonissue.

I guess I shouldn’t point out that people care more about what they wear to church than the message they are there to receive.

I guess that also means that missions to foreign nations are in vain. Those people don’t have shoes. So eff em. Dirty Ron Paul loving hippie tribesmen.

    They’v got some balls.

Look what I found on Google……

One of the most searing events in
German history occurred soon after Hitler took office. On February 27,
1933, in what easily could be termed the 9/11 terrorist attack of that
time, German terrorists fire-bombed the German parliament building. It
shouldn’t surprise anyone that Adolf Hitler, one of the strongest
political leaders in history, would declare war on terrorism and ask the
German parliament (the Reichstag) to give him temporary emergency
    powers to fight the terrorists.

  • Centrist79

Newt I take it does not believe in free speech.

  • Anonymous

    You call them RON PAUL!!!

  • Anonymous

Why do people address Gingrich as “Mr. Speaker”?  He’s a FORMER Speaker!!  I mean, Callista is his FORMER mistress, but I haven’t heard her addressed that way.

  • Anonymous

Funny.  I guess you were out of town when SEIU thugs were assaulting people during the health care debate.

    WOW!!!….Kicked away his flip-flop.
Under Obama’s new guidelines….That’s an offense punishable by indefinite military detention without a trial.

I have no religion nor do I belong to a church, BUT, I’ve heard it said:

“What would Jesus do?”  Anyone know?

  • http://mediamatters.org/ Leedog

Jesus would punch newt right in the face!!

  • http://mediamatters.org/ Leedog

    Classic!!  =)

  • http://mediamatters.org/ Leedog

Who could really be surprised with this, especially with all of us knowing how Republicans gravitate towards the use of violence!!

  • Anonymous

Hey Leedog, I loved your comment and I will bet you are right on the mark!!!!  Just a little aside, I have no idea why women like Newt (or approve of him I might say).  Do they like men with POWER, obese and unattractive men, or his Tiffany Account?.  Three guesses and the first 2 do not count.I know most of these sites are “monitored” but the other day I saw one that described in gory detail a certain sex act with Newt.  (just someone’s imagination at work).  It was so funny I could not contain myself!!!!

First, Jesus would fix Dillard’s foot.
Second, Jesus would fix Gingrich’s eyesight so he wouldn’t try to set up a campaign stop right in front of an opponent’s sign.
Third, Jesus would throw them all out of the precincts of the temple.

Also a parallel between Newt’s guards breaking Dillard’s foot out of guilt/to make up for letting Newt charge off in the wrong direction, and Peter’s cutting off the soldier’s ear out of guilt/to make up for sleeping at Gethsemane instead of keeping watch with Jesus.

Glad you asked. That really gave my mind a workout.

The guy was there holding his sign on a public sidewalk. Newt’s thugs show up and try to intimidate him into moving, as apparently the Ron Paul sign was an inconvenience to Newt’s photo op. I don’t think his ‘stash’ had anything to do with it – on the contrary, he is an owner of a very successful business in Orlando, as much as I’m sure he’d love the free publicity, I’ll refrain from naming his business…
