Obama Homebrews White House Honey Ale For Medal Of Honor Recipient

For his Wednesday evening beer summit with Medal of Honor winner Marine Sgt. Dakota Meyer, President Obama served up some of the White House’s own homebrewed Honey Ale.

The do-it-yourself brewski was a special treat for the war hero who had specifically requested to drink a beer with the President.

The Honey Ale was previously served at the White House Super Bowl Party and during the summer.

According to the blog Obama Foodorama, the executive branch brew was made with a pound of honey from the White House Beehive, located on the South Lawn of the White House.

The President and First Lady purchased the brewing equipment with their own funds.

    Yes .

    I’m a big liberal .

    Go Obama !

I find this to be a very cool thing better than giving him a frickin’ jellybean!

  • Anonymous

Somebody had to brew it, so I guess Obama created at least one job.

  • HawkCW4

Now thats funny Bova,   In all this bad economy you would think our leader would buy a six pack of American Made beer to serve up to the Marine Hero.   Instead  he serves up one the Marine had to help pay for.  Obama has yet to get anything right,  I wonder why I assumed he would get having a beer with a true American Hero right.   Damn Obama,  you ever hear of Budwieser, Coors, Miller Lite, or any one of hundreds more American Made Beers?

Why don’t any job creators create jobs? They have record breaking profits and tax cuts.

  • Tony the Fist

    Try my brew.
It’s called “Bitter Clinger Double Bach.”

Those breweries are owned by non-american companies.  Know your beer! At least The President served an American beer.

  • Rob

    Idiot! Who owns Budwieser..?

I am still waiting for the Obama scandals that have been brewing for the past several months (Fast&FuriousGate) and recently(SolyndraGate and SheltonGate). Hopefully they will be ready soon and served chilled with some impeachment barbequed steak.

That was very nice of Obama!!

  • Sharpo

    no, he’s not a liberal

he’s a cowardly crybaby conservative POOSEY

  • Sharpo

why are you a poosey? why do you hide like a coward? is it because you have no balls?

Why won’t you mention that STATE BOOZE TAXES made the decision for obama — like many others in america

     to make their own beer

Hawk, why are you a poosey?

  • Sharpo

it shows that obama is smarter with his money than you are. you buy beer at obscene rates while obama makes it for way less

    who is smarter? :P

  • Sharpo

if john doe believed what he said, he’d sign his real name beside his comment.

    therefore.

john doe doesn’t believe what he says

No, you’re just another uneducated douche.

  • insideguy

I think thats really cool:) Its nice to have a president who can drink a beer and brew it instead of an ex lush in the white house:)

I suppose everyone needs a hobby.  Now we know what he’s doing besides golf when he’s supposed to be working on the economy.

  • Anonymous

    OMG.  You are amazingly daft.

Budweiser, Coors and Miller are either owned by non-US companies OR merged with a Canadian Company.  What you call “American Beer” is pretty funny, considering.

Had you suggested a Pabst, Sierra Nevada, Fat Tire, Sam Adams, etc., you would have suggested American Made Beers in the way you tried and failed to above.

So how is a beer brewed at the White House, with White House honey and served to a Marine Hero less American than the ones you suggested?

  • Irishsob

As an award winning brewer for the last decade, I can tell you, it is a great hobby that teaches above all else patiences — something I’m afraid the President will need in dealing with the obstructionist Republicans.

I just hope he remembers to have a couple of handcrafted brews – when all else fails – and gets ready to fight.

If a little liquid courage helps him do that — drink up!

    Smokin’ dope…snortin’ coke….bunga bunga parties …..firin’ up a cigarette….playing golf and basketball….traveling the world….and brewing rotgut.
No wonder we are on the verge of collapse.
Time for the Muslim to go.

  • Anonymous

That is how Hussain can drink the beer.  No alcohol in his home brew.

  • Anonymous

Agreed….A boozing coke snorter and his Ho’ are much better than a recovering alcoholic.
I can see why you voted for him….you brainless dickwad.

  • Anonymous

Or he could serve Trout Slayer, Summer Honey or Moose Drool out of Big Sky Brewing, as well as many other small brewery beers that have been the kind of small business job creators that we need. My spouse was very happy to find those beers in a local store.

  • Nature Freak

Generally speaking, real Honey Ale is awesome.

  • Nature Freak

    snortin’ coke.
    bunga bunga parties?
    rotgut.?
    Muslim?

    WTF?

You are one ignorant bigoted old man. At least your nursing home has internet access, although it is wasted on the likes of you.

The list you gave sounds like a wishlist for yourself.

  • Nature Freak

    “Ho’

Your nursing home attendant must love working with you.
You are the brainless one. Your children would be embarrased by your comments if they still spoke to you.

    LOSER!

  • Hugo Daun

    Not too bright, are ya?

That’s OK…your handle sounds really badass!

Stills are for distillation. This is fermentation.

Wait, why is this a beer and not a mead?

Thanks for pointing that out.  I had to once to a couple of Santa Monica undercover cops who didn’t know the difference.

Everyone took their hands off their guns and got really nice once the confusion was cleared up.

You can thank Jimmy Carter for signing the law that allows Americans to brew up to 250 gallons of home brew a year.

Another thing President Carter got right!

  • Irishsob

Thanks for clearing that up.  I had to once explain the difference to a couple of Santa Monica undercover cops.

Everyone took their hands off their guns and got real nice once I stopped laughing and cleared up the confusion.

Jimmy Carter signed the law that allows Americans to brew up to 250 gallons of home brew a year.

Another great thing President Carter did for the country.

  • Irishsob

BTW, Solydra loans started in the Bush administration.

    See http://thinkprogress.org/romm/2011/09/13/317594/timeline-bush-administration-solyndra-loan-guarantee/

And when you compare it to all the billions the DOD waste, you’ve got to be kidding or just a fact ignoring partisan.

  • Irishsob

Actually Bush is a dry alcoholic — which explains why he is mad at the world.

  • Irishsob

Hey Scott, as an award winning premium DRY mead maker, you are spot on.  If you are ever in S. CA,
let me know and we’ll share a bottle or three.
