Aug 19th, 2014, 12:03 pm
Most adult black Americans say Darren Wilson, the officer who shot and killed 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., should be found guilty of murder, according to a new Rasmussen poll.
As of yet, Wilson has not been charged with any wrongdoing for the infamous Aug. 9 incident. However, 57 percent of surveyed black adults say he should be convicted of murder.
Other notable findings:
- Most Americans, 54 percent, say the news media would have been less invested if the incident involved a black policeman shooting a white teenager.
- Almost a fourth, 22 percent, of blacks and other minorities surveyed think most police are racists.
- More Americans than not (44 percent to 39 percent) believe police shouldn’t have released Wilson’s name to the news media after the shooting.
