I am just saying that the Reuters link went down. I saw the post on Twitter from Tammy Bruce, then went to Reuters. They were up then. Then a min. later, it was down. That could be due to overload OR physically taking them down. Who knows.

Okay, I’ve stop laughing, so now I can reply… He may ‘look’ smart but he sure doesn’t sound smart. It was not his idea to go into Paki- it was the intelligence that drove the trail there right to Usama. It was Panetta who pushed for this with the support of Hillary and Gates. Obama was briefed and who really knows what he said – we have only his word and that keeps changing along with story on how things really went down. But I can guarantee you he was not calling the shots, he knows nothing about a military operation and was a bystander once this got underway. I can almost guarantee that if this had all gone south, he would have turned on Panetta/Gates and the CIA faster than you could say “osama bin laden”. This is not a man who would have taken the fall, only the glory.

When we saw the original photos one clearly showed the bedroom with a king size bed, huge pile of blood on the floor ( can now see from this photo belonging to this guy ) not belonging to bin Laden.

In that original photo, available here at MEDIAite ( different thread ) there is the hoses and various hook up lines for Osama’s dialysis machine top right next to bed. This could only mean this was bin Ladens bedroom, but that’s not him dead at the side of HIS bed.

Raid supposedly took place in the middle of the night, by complete surprize yet another man, not bin Laden was shot getting out of his bed.

We’ll most likely never know the true story of what actually happen that fateful night,and it probably doesn’t matter.

….. but I’ll be damned as a “real ” American if I will blindly take the word of Barack Hussein Obama ll regarding what went down, as his version is designed merely to bolster his radical agenda to destoy America as we know and love her, replacing her with God knows what……not going to happen….not now, not ever.

Our sources say the breakdown occurred because CBS was unwilling to give Katie substantial involvement in the network’s news operation. We’re told CBS honchos were willing to give Katie pieces for “60 Minutes,” but nothing more — and Katie wasn’t having it.

So when you mix together the event of the year, reports from individuals in a Seal team that probably wasn’t fully debriefed, an often adversarial press room full of folks wanting to make names for themselves, and an often impatient general public who’s used to seeing “combat” as scripted, staged, choreographed CGI events presented in HD, this is the result you get.

If anybody’s not satisfied with Bin Laden being dead, I suggest chartering a boat and sailing out to the Indian Ocean with a scuba suit.
Watch out for pirates, though.

If the Operation had failed Obama would have turned on the CIA, Panetta and Clinton faster that you could imagine. Actually other than your disparaging remarks about conservatives I agree with some of what you said – I don’t think it has to do with transparency however, but from an operational standpoint, with an election coming up, I do believe this is a prime PR moment to make Obama look as if he was more involved than giving the ‘green light’ He must look Presidential. So there is a balance to who gets what as far as credit, whether deserved or not. He can’t praise Panetta too much, and goodness, knows Hilary can’t appear to be stronger than the Pres.
Obviously, the president had to give approval or there would not have been any operation. period.

I agree with your assessment of the communication/facts fallout. When you don’t have static participants in an operation, evidence of a bloody take down left for anyone to photograph, a sovereign nation pleading ignorance and anger, aides to each player in the WH, a zealous news -breaking first media information will get put out before it is substantiated and put to the test of truth.
No one, other than those present can really speak with any authority to what went down.
