The FDA Keeps Up with Kim Kardashian’s Drug Endorsements
It turns out that the Food and Drug Administration keeps up with the Kardashians too, and something that Kim Kardashian posted a few weeks ago caused them to send a warning to a drug manufacturer.
Kardashian is pregnant again, and in mid-July, she posted this Instagram promoting Diclegis, morning sickness medication, made by the company Duchesnay:

That Instagram is no longer up, and it may have something to do with Duchesnay getting in trouble with the FDA over it.
According to Bloomberg, the FDA sent a warning letter to them over Kardashian’s Instagram not just because the endorsement was “false and misleading,” but because it “fails to communicate any risk information associated with its use and it
omits material facts.”
The actual content of Kardashian’s Instagram––which “omits all risk information”––is featured in the letter. They call on Duchesnay to stop “misbranding” the drug and issue some “corrective messaging.”
All thanks to one of Kim Kardashian’s Instagrams.
