Vicente Fox Invites Trump to Mexico After Apologizing for Vulgar Slams Against Border Wall

Former Mexican President Vicente Fox gave an interview yesterday where he took back his harsh language for Donald Trump and asked him to come see what life is like on the other side of the southern border.

Trump’s incendiary proposals on immigration are one of the staples of his campaign, and Fox has been one of the mogul’s toughest international critics when it comes to his anti-Mexican rhetoric. Fox especially gained attention when he said in February that his country would never pay for Trump’s “f*cking” border wall, and he’s proceeded to call him a “false prophet,” an “egocentric,” and a modern Adolf Hitler.

“I apologize. Forgiveness is one of the greatest qualities that human beings have, is the quality of a compassionate leader,” Fox said to Breitbart. “You have to be humble. You have to be compassionate. You have to love thy neighbor.”

Fox also explained to Breitbart that he is not actually in favor of open borders. He went on to say though that Mexicans do have a right to travel to and work in America, and that trade and immigration wouldn’t be such pressing issues if laws were enforced as efficiently as they were meant to be.

“If I offended you, I’m sorry. But what about the other way around?” Fox asked the camera. “I don’t think he should follow the strategy of attacking others, offending others, to get to his purpose. There are other ways and means of doing it. I invite him to come to Mexico and to see what Mexico is all about.”
