Washington Post Will Publish Charlie Hebdo Cartoon on Editorial Page (UPDATE: Here It Is)

The Washington Post’s deputy editorial page editor Jackson Diehl tweeted Wednesday evening that the paper’s Thursday op-ed page will feature a cartoon from the French magazine Charlie Hebdo, which was the target of a terror attack that left 12 people dead earlier today:

Diehl did not indicate whether the cartoon in question would feature the Prophet Muhammed.

Several U.S. news organizations have said that they will not be publishing and airing any cartoons that could be deemed “offensive” to Muslims. The New York Daily News blurred an image of one of the magazine’s cartoons on its website earlier in the day and both the Associated Press and The New York Times said they would not publish such images.

While Fox News aired cartoons featuring Muhammed earlier in the day, that network has said they have “no plans” to do so again, joining both CNN and MSNBC, which indicated the same.

UPDATE THURSDAY 10:26 a.m. EST: And here it is:

Washington Post publishes Charlie Hebdo cover in print on its Opinion page.
