WikiLeaks Claims Michael Hastings Told Them FBI Was Investigating Him Hours Before He Died
Earlier today, WikiLeaks sent out a cryptic tweet that hinted they had more information about yesterday’s tragic death of reporter Michael Hastings. They followed through with another tweet claiming that Hastings reached out to one of their lawyers to reveal to them he believed the FBI was investigating him.
WikiLeaks’ first tweet from earlier today garnered some criticism, with Gawker’s John Cook calling them “fucking garbage” and Mother Jones editor David Corn calling their “tease” “inappropriate” the day after Hastings’ death. Mediaite’s Tommy Christopher also chimed in: “For now, we’ll just be yellow.”
WikiLeaks has not yet followed up with any additional information. Here is the tweet they sent out:
