This Exists: ‘Obama Fried Chicken’ Is China’s Newest Fast Food Craze

The image of President Barack Obama as Colonel Sanders advertising a fried chicken restaurant would immediately be flagged as unacceptably racist, but that seems to be exactly what has popped up in Beijing. The Daily Mail reports that “Obama Fried Chicken,” complete with the President in suspenders and bow tie and the slogan, “We’re so cool, aren’t we?”

Here’s a story with a happy ending: The Roots and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon drummer ?uestlove apologized for stirring the racial pot at the NBC cafeteria when he tweeted a photo of a Black History Month menu featuring fried chicken and collard greens. As a peacemaking offering, ?uesto presented the chef responsible with a spa gift certificate and shook his head at bloggers who blew up the issue.

Last night on The Jay Leno Show, comedian and FOX late night host Wanda Sykes showed she reads the internet (and Jay Leno doesn’t), as she took the time to call out NBC for the fried chicken “Black History Month” menu choice that bubbled up just a few hours before taping.
