When she was asked about this clinic, she totally ignored the question and said that she is focused on Jobs for American. I have yet to hear one specific proposal from her on how she plans on doing that. So far, she is all talk and no substance.

Bush came into office with a budget surplus and a ten year projection of paying off the national debt.  That was his justification for tax cuts and spending – the government was paying off the debt so it had too much money.  He bankrupted the country, was that rare president who had a net loss of jobs over his 8 years in office, the stock market was lower at the end of his term than the beginning, etc.  Obama stopped the free fall but has not been able to get us back to strong growth yet.  Now Republicans say we have to give up Medicare so that we can lower taxes on the rich.

Its irony quotient is much lower and hence it is vulnerable to accusations of vulgarity in a way that TDS and Colbert are not.

And that’s not even mentioning that Maher is a professional vulgarian, while Stewart and Colbert are much more skilled actor-comedians.

By my definition, there is really no such thing as the “Christian Right.” I’d like to say the media came up with that term. Unfortunately, it may very well have originated from people I respect and love. Regardless, you are either a Christian who is living by Scriptural standards or a Christian / non-believer who is not living by Scriptural standards.
