CNN’s Toobin: ‘Laughable’ to Suggest Baltimore Gangs Are Serving the Public Good

There were gang members in Baltimore saying earlier today that they’re trying to stop the violence and the looting, but CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin was (to put it mildly) just a tad skeptical about that.

Toobin wrote last year about the Black Guerilla Family, a Baltimore gang that he said essentially controls the Baltimore City Detention Center, and said today he doubted they or any of the other gangs in Baltimore are acting in the best interests of anyone but themselves.

He pointed out “these are killers, these are drug dealers,” and “the idea that these gangs are doing anything for the public good or doing anything other than continuing their reign of terror over the city is laughable to me.”
