Jenny McCarthy Announced As New Co-Host Of The View
Following the announcement of Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s departure last week, The View revealed Monday afternoon that actress and former Playboy Playmate Jenny McCarthy would be the new co-host for the daytime roundtable show. She will join the show officially at the start of the new season on September 9.
McCarthy has made many appearances on the show already, and guess-hosted in the past.
Hasselbeck is headed to the morning show Fox And Friends, where she will replace longtime host Gretchen Carlson, who is being moved to her own daytime slot. Fox And Friends immediately welcomed Hasselbeck by taking a shot at her former show.
Named Playmate of the Year in 1993, McCarthy has since maintained a steady presence in the spotlight, starring in a variety of TV shows, including one named after her in 1997, and a smattering of movies, such as Scary Movie 3. She has also gained wide prominence as an anti-vaccination activist, which has led many to question the rumored selection of her as host of The View.
