We’re an amazing state, aren’t we? I’m told Dan Moody was a great governor, well before my time, and that Allan Shivers did a great job on infrastructure. That is the first thing I thought, John is doing the DeLay thing. A couple of years ago i read a really good article somewhere on the internet about what you mention and how celebrities are doing it more and more.

My understanding is Tom DeLay liked his mugshot so much he used it for other purposes. I need to look this one up but I believe it to be true.

A friend’s wife represented him in a court case that went to the jury. He was the ideal client. Paid his legal bill and made a great witness. I also met Ben Barnes once at a Democratic fundraiser. But my greatest witness to Texas political downfall came when I interviewed incumbent Governor Dolph Briscoe for the Galveston paper the day before he lost the Democratic gubernatorial primary to challenger John Hill. Lots of sturm und drang in Texas politics back then.
