Keith Olbermann’s Spit Take Over Being On A Deserted Island With Michele Bachmann

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann probably surprised a lot of people when she told an interviewer that she would choose to be stranded on a deserted island with liberal firebreather Keith Olbermann, but none more than Olbermann himself.

The Countdown host was so rattled, in fact, that he devoted a special pre-”Worst Persons” segment to the Bachmann interview, and after executing a not-bad-for-an-amateur spit-take, announced “I’m game.”

Granted, Bachmann was only given the choice of maroonment with either Olbermann, Chris Matthews, or Rachel Maddow, but it was still a courageous choice on her part, and her assessment of their potential maroonication displayed a surprising generosity of spirit.

Olbermann, for his part, could greatly benefit from such a meeting. The host famously eschews guests from the other side of the aisle, but perhaps a tête-à-tête (or mano-a-mano?) with Bachmann could throw off enough sparks to light the fuse on a Countdown renaissance in which the partisan lion lays down with the ideological lamb. In any case, it certainly promises to be entertaining.

Here’s the clip, from MSNBC:

Sigh… how many times can anyone say KO is a dick until it becomes redundant?

  • The Real Royal King

    Ever Klassy, Keith.

  • Tony the Fist

You missed the part where Ed Shultz slipped on a banana peel and Rachel Maddow sat on a whoopie cushion. Slapstick gold!

  • Big Eddie

Pretty sure if Olbermann were found lying on a beach that
Greenpeace would show up to push him back into the water .

The banana peel gag doesn’t do much for me. But a whoppie cushion? Gold! Almost like a flaming bag of dog crap.

  • errxn

Looks like Le Grande Douche can now add “shitty, unconvincing actor” to his resume.

  • skyfet

She spouts loads of rubbish, but actually is attractive. But she might be too old for me, but Olbermann should fit the bill. lol

  • Probably NOT wrong

OMG. What a flaming POS A/H Olberdork is.
Does MSNBC Mgt ever watch their own lineup?
The answers are there for them 24/7 right in front of
    there eyes!
Low ratings forever unless they wise up!

  • Just4thefax

Fact: Olbermann spitting fit was trying to say Olbermann!

  • Kird

Olbermann looks like he’s trying to copy Comedy Central’s approach. I thought he said he was a journalist.

    PS
    Hi Keith

  • dhg

Can this show become more pointless than it already is?Apparently so…

In other news, the way to choose which of the three to be on an island with is to decide which one you’d have a better chance of caving their skull in with a coconut.

  • dummy123

Tea-Bag Girls are yucky…we get it Keith!

Now A-Rod in a towel in the Yankee locker room……that is what Power-bottom Keith dreams about!

  • writer

I think any woman on a deserted island with Keith would be hiding on the other side of the island.

What does it say about me, if I’d rather be stranded with Maddow than Bachmann?

After all, I figure Rachel’s a better conversationalist, more adept at employing logic and when you get to the nitty-gritty, a touch more willing to compromise.

Maddow is an idiot. The only reason the MSM loves her is because she is a lesbian and it’s cool to love gays these days. Maddow is a shrill, shrieking failed radio host who has no business being on television, But MSNBC seems to find these people under rocks and exposes them to the rest of us like a plague. Look at her ratings and you will see she is a failure.

Famously flaccid Keith Olbermann demonstrates the inner racist that dwells inside every liberal, proving he fits right in on the White Boy’s Network (MSNBC).

  • Scott_in_MI

Someone who doesn’t parrot Olbermann’s opinions on his show? Yeah right. Olbermann would never have her on. He’s a coward. The dude is so gutless that he stayed home in New York when the entire MSNBC crew went to the Republican National Convention…the big sissy was afraid he’d have to interview someone who’s not an extremist like himself.

  • http://sharethisurlaboutglennbeck.com/ GlennBeckReview

Olbermann had a chance to really generate sparks with a one hour special of him interviewing M. Bachmann. Her nuttiness and his arrogance would have made for some fascinating exchanges, but he basically dropped the ball. He could have politely invited her to come on his show instead of exhibiting his disdainful superiority.

I was disappointed in his response. Hell, even Glenn Beck invites his friend Al Sharpton to be on his show; Olbermann missed a great opportunity to dress down this tea party darling.

MSNBC and FoxPAC both only have two black anchors, both are “White Boy’s Networks.”

The choice between Maddow, or Backmann is a tricky one. One the one-hand you have Maddow, with her boyish good-looks and irreverent, wacky, never ceasing gibberish, and on the other hand you have Backmann a beautiful women of good humor and intelligent conversation. This is going to be difficult?!!

If you aren’t watching her, how can you say you’ve been “exposed”? I take it, also, that you have a problem with gays? Dr. Maddow is an “idiot” …hmmm.. what’s your degree in? Are you a Rhodes Scholar from Oxford?
I think its funny as hell to watch you peons trash on people like K.O. and Maddow and yet your feelings get bruised when we laugh at your precious morons like Sarah Palin and Glenn Peckersniff.

No one will ever accuse you of having good reading comprehension, there wing-nut. The choice was among Olbermann, Matthews and Maddow. Regarding the latter, what you call “gibberish” you can’t stand because she successfully takes down your heroes. If you want to write about crazy statements, then consider many of the things Bachmann (note spelling) has said over the years compete with some of the “completely insane” things that Beck has said in the last 22 months.

    Such as:

“I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out under another, then under another Democrat president, Jimmy Carter. I’m not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it’s an interesting coincidence.”

“I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out: Are they pro-America or anti-America?”

“Take this into consideration. If we look at American history, between 1942 and 1947, the data that was collected by the Census Bureau was handed over to the FBI and other organizations at the request of President Roosevelt, and that’s how the Japanese were rounded up and put into the internment camps. I’m not saying that that’s what the Administration is planning to do, but I am saying that private personal information that was given to the Census Bureau in the 1940s was used against Americans to round them up, in a violation of their constitutional rights, and put the Japanese in internment camps.”

“During the last 100 days we have seen an orgy. It would make any local smorgasbord embarrassed … The government spent its wad by April 26.”

“That’s why people need to continue to go to the town halls, continue to melt the phone lines of their liberal members of Congress, and let them know, under no certain circumstances will I give the government control over my body and my health care decisions.”

“There are hundreds and hundreds of scientists, many of them holding Nobel Prizes, who believe in intelligent design.”

“I want people in Minnesota armed and dangerous on this issue of the energy tax because we need to fight back. Thomas Jefferson told us ‘having a revolution every now and then is a good thing,’ and the people — we the people — are going to have to fight back hard if we’re not going to lose our country.”

CA Conservative, you wouldn’t know gibberish if it walked up to your and sat on your face. “Intelligent conversation” my ass!

@GBR: I also made the Maddow versus Bachmann choice because the implication from the question, or at least the way it is usually asked is in reference to co-habitating life partners.

First of all I am gay and have made that clear many times so stop with the liberal homophobic racist rants against anyone that disagrees with you. As a proud Gay I along with many other proud gays find Maddow boring, shrill and uninformed. Her cutesy little girl shrieks and baby talk are too much to take. Can’t we have a normal gay representing us on the tube? Is that too much to ask?

  • rocky road

Well we do have normal gays on the tube. Ellen and Portia are beautiful, smart gays. They don’t like to dress like a man like Maddow does. Maddow needs to wear something to hide her adam’s apple. I swear, she is an embarrassment to gays everywhere.

GBR, You’re right about a Olbermann/Bachmann showdown being some entertaining TV, but I believe that even you’ll admit that KO is to much of a coward to have her on. Debators need to practice, but since KO NEVER has an opposing view, he hasn’t had any practice. Because of this, she’ll clean his clock and make him look like an ass….like she did w/ Matthews.

Stop the presses: Scott agrees with me about something.

As for Olbermann being a “coward,” I cannot read his mind. You are speculating and should admit it. Otherwise, it’s you who looks like as ass. Also, you’re wrong about KO “NEVER” having an opposing view. He had Howard Kutz on to make the case that donating to political candidates, as KO did, is wrong, crossing a line. That, Scott, is an opposing view. As I intimated, I would like to see him cross mental swords with Republicans and Libertarians.

Not one face of color during the prime time hours? You guys need to come out of the closet so we can see those white robes.

Nothing says “disenlightened” like an ignorant statement.

“You guys?” Tell me you meant to write, “Those guys,” because there are few whites more anti-racist than I.

Incidentally, I have yet to detect real racism in Mr. Beck. Symbolic racism? Yes, but not any explicitly racist statements like we hear Limbaugh make.

Perhaps i’m speculating, but my speculation is strongly back up by evidence. 1 guest out of hundreds who disagrees (for the record, Kurtz and KO agreed on most points) w/ Goebbels-Olbermann pretty much proves that he’s a gutless coward who’s afraid to debate.

There WAS a link, as you pointed to, between fascists and progressives as you indicated. There is not a progressive today who doesn’t understand what history has taught us, that Nazis and fascists were racists and therefore reactionary (although far more reactionary than Libertarians).

You can try to make Olbermann’s liberal bias and orientatin equal to Goebbels and fascist, but that only tells the world how little you understand contemporary liberalism and progressivism.

    http://www.sharethisurlaboutglennbeck.com/2010/06/what-is-glenn-beck-politically.html

Furthermore, you’re again guessing about how often Olbermann has opposing POV on his show. You claimed “NEVER,” and I put that lie to rest with one example that I remembered off hand.

Got any more guesses to “enlighten” us with?
