Meghan McCain On Palin’s Double Standard: “Exactly What Is Wrong With Politics Today”

video

Meghan McCain was a guest host on The View today when Barbara Walters brought up a number of political issues in the news surrounding Sarah Palin — specifically the use of the term “retarded” by Rahm Emanuel and Rush Limbaugh. Palin called out Emanuel for using the term, but gave Limbaugh a pass because he was “using satire.” McCain jumped all over this, calling it “exactly what is wrong with politics today…we can’t placate and say Democrats can say one thing and Republicans can say another thing, its exactly, a perfect example of what is wrong in this country today.”

She then went on to criticize Tom Tancredo‘s remarks on Obama (and her father John McCain), which was very well received in the Manhattan studio where the show was being taped.

    Good job Meghan!

Poor little clueless Megan!!! McCain is too stupid to realize or even know what Rush was doing with his use of the “R” word. He wasn’t using it like Rahm Emmanual was. Rush was using it to make a point. That went right over her bleach blond head of hers.

Sure she wants to call the Tea Party members racist and other garbage. Poor little Miss Piggy. Throwing around garbage terms like that because some guys in the Republican party would rather date her mom instead of an overweight bubbleheaded clueless moron.

The worst thing of all with this twit is her lack of knowledge on the History of America. My goodness why doesnt she just do herself a favor and SHUT UP. Every time she opens her mouth (when not putting food in) she confrims to everyone the reason why she is allowed on TV. It has nothing to do with her knowledge on anything but because she will make a fool out of herself and some Republicans. Why doesn’t MSNBC give her a show? She’d be right at home on that network.

Ms. McCain was correct that Sarah Palin should have called out Rush Limbaugh for using the word “retards” to describe Democrats. (I myself prefer to call them “mentally handicapped”)

But she (and her father) are completely wrong about illegal immigrants. Demography is destiny, and if Americans want a society like Mexico’s, well then, legalize illegal aliens. In fact, that is exactly what Rep. Luis Guitierez (D-IL) intends to do when he presents such a bill to the House this year. And Democrats will try to pass it because they intend to enroll anywhere from 12-30 million illegals as voters, and thus steal future elections. Former Calif. Gov Grey Davis (D) tried exactly that during his 2003 recall election. So sorry, Meghan, that is why I could never support your father, despite the fact that he is a war hero.

McCain: Congressman Tancredo went on TV and he was the first opening speaker and he said, ‘People who could not even spell the word vote or say it in English put a committed socialist ideologue in the White House whose name is Barack Hussein Obama.’ And then he went on to say that people at the convention should have to pass literacy tests in order to be able to vote in this country, which is the same thing that happened in the 50’s to prevent African Americans from voting. It’s innate racism and I think it’s why young people are turned off by this movement. And I’m sorry, but revolutions start with young people, not with 65-year-old people talking about literacy tests and people who can’t say the word ‘vote’ in English.

Don’t you all love those history lessons from Meghan McCain??!

Now for a little reality check for chubby. Did her public school education only go back as far as the 1950′s when it came to US History???

1889 Florida adopts a poll tax. Ten other southern states will implement poll taxes.

1890 Mississippi adopts a literacy test to keep African Americans from voting. Numerous other states—not just in the south—also establish literacy tests. However, the tests also exclude many whites from voting. To get around this, states add grandfather clauses that allow those who could vote before 1870, or their descendants, to vote regardless of literacy or tax qualifications.

Poor Meghan, trying to be relevant. Give it up, we know you have an ax to grind with her. The reason Palin didn’t have the same reaction (and if you had listened to her and Rush, you would know), he was pointing out how Libs get away with this stuff ALL the time. He said it repeatedly and anyone who doesn’t have a blind hatred of Rush knew it.

Why the comparison at all? Rush is a media entity. You don’t like what he says? Change the channel.
Rahm is a member of the Goverment! He has to set a higher standard due to where he is. He should
be held to task for what he says.

Even she has Palin figured out; the tea-baggers on the other hand are busy selling Todd and Sarah dolls for $34.95 excluding shipping and handling.

Satirically speaking, the conservatives/republicans on this thread are retards. Legitimate retards.. satirically speaking.

  • DEO

Megan is certainly THE BEST of the McCain family, but just last week didn’t she say “Palin could be preznit”…therefore she is just as dim as Palin.
At least she’s not a bigot.

  • DEO

be held to task for what he says.

    Well, he WAS.

You’re right Limbaugh is just a lump of shit, and Palin is a turd in a big wig and mini skirt, I DON’T care what they say.

  • stoogedude

Here’s what Limbaugh does: He says something completely outrageous, completely offensive, but says it under the mask of “satire” so that he doesn’t have to take responsibility for his incredibly insensitive words. Just because you say it’s satire, doesn’t make it so. Rush can be satrical all he wants, but he’s ignorant if he thinks that no one would be offended by his words. Yeah, I know, he’s mocking liberals, blah blah blah. When you use it sarcastically and cynically, it’s offensive. If Saturday Night Live said the same thing, it would be offensive. If a comedian said it, it’s still offensive. Rahm Emanuel should be incredibly ashamed of himself as well.

Look, I listen to Limbaugh. It’s a wonder I don’t have an aneurysm of some sort listening to him (I can only take a few minutes of it at a time), but I know the games he plays. He says he knows liberals. Of course he does! Everytime he opens his mouth he says something outrageous, and liberals are going to respond to the most ridiculous of his statements.

When liberals say outrageous things, if Rush wants to criticize them, then he should DO it! Don’t repeat the words to see if liberals will hold Rush to the same standards they hold themselves to. He’s all about how conservatives are better than liberals. Why doesn’t he be the better person and condemn ridiculous liberal remarks instead of lowering himself to their level?

Rush IS a media entity, but he also has millions of people listen to him. Conservatives take every word he says to heart and he has a massive influence in conservative politics. He has conservative members of Congress wrapped around his finger. He should be obligated to take responsibility for the many inflammatory things he says. That goes with any media personality, conservative or liberal.

McLame junior is a stepford wife to be and should shut the gob stopper. She is as dense as her old man. As for stoogedude above……well we all know about the liberal love we get on all the left wing comedy show and all the slant in the news. Grow a set junior, politics and the discussions thereof are rough and tumble and not for knickers clad little boys who weep at a scuffed knee. Move along, nothing for you here. Limbaugh has correctly pointed out liberal idiocy and made me laugh long and loud. Hey, if you can’t laugh at yourselves you simps, at least let others. Peace out OBOTS.

I did notice there were few, if any, Tea partiers under about 50 yrs old. On that one, MM was right.

  • DEO

There are NO teapartiers under 50…it the movement of the old and lame. They are tired of governmnet, tired of foreignors, tired of patience…they are just TIRED and take GERITOL or something.
Sarah is their princess…they think the short frump in glasses, a big wig, spray tan and tattooed on eyebrows is HAWT. I guess for a geriatric she may be.

    Sarah Palin/Tonya Harding 2012!

  • stoogedude

Hey Mr. Wolford, did they give you your medicine before bed?

Have you noticed how SNL has gone after Obama, Jon Stewart has gone after Obama, Leno has gone after Obama…sure they go after right-wingers more often, but it’s COMEDY!

Fox News is the highest rated cable news channel, at times the highest rated cable channel. Right wing talk is the dominant form of talk radio. More conservative books are published than liberal. Rush says something, Sarah says something, Fox News reports something, and the media runs with it. You are buying into a myth that the media is all liberal. You have rightie Fox News and leftie MSNBC…wait, why am I expaining this to you? You wouldn’t believe it unless Rush or your darling Sarah said it.

Meghan McCain can go on the View and say what she wants. Why would you care? Doesn’t the Price is Right come on about that time?

  • blueblogger

    Palin/Brown 2012 LOL

  • The Real Royal King

On the one hand, I find it troubling that rightists immediately reject any view fresher than the ham sandwich on board Amelia Earhart’s Lockheed Electra, I can also take heart in that doing so resigns the rightist Republicans to a time in the wilderness far greater than we have the capacity to understand. Such self-destruction has seldom been witnessed before.

  • Socalgal

And if she wasn’t McCain’s daughter, she would be… where? Yeah, that’s what I thought.
The 15 minutes are running out.

And if McCain hadn’t made the fatal mistake of selecting Airhead Sarah she would be …. where? Something else besides a female version of Dan Quayle.
