I kind of the like the show, although it is all over the place; it is still a far cry better than watching the idiot Chris complain about an American citizenship that was gained legally (he is only pushing illegals to get theirs) and watching Chris complain about an Aussie while his own colleague Martin (a brit) takes a job that should be in the hands of a legit, legal citizen of this country.

They use that numbers because the “theory” is that age group is more valuable to advertisers. Whether it acyually is or not is up for debate,

But mediaite uses the “demo” because they think it makes the disparity in viewers look better…I.E., “well fewer people watch, but hey, they’re really important people”

It’s basically a crock.

They use the demo because that is EVERYTHING for keeping a show alive. It’s all advertisers care about. The overall number is worth a shoutout in a promo..that’s about it.

This is an important issue with FNC because they’re the Harley-Davidson of cable news: Still popular, but the product users are aging, and they’re struggling to grab the next generation. A show that gives Gutfeld and Tantaros shots at hosting duties is clearly an audition for roles in the future geared towards the demo. If they don’t catch on, it’s going to be worrying for FNC.

Haha I heard that when Matthews got the news the tingles up and down his leg were uncontrolled to the poiint that he had to change his pants several times… So Fox closes down a program that was mopping the floor with him and he falls into first place through no fault of his own.. something to be proud of I guess.

You can get every older eye in the country to watch your show, but if those eyes aren’t rushing out to buy Chevys and Big Macs, it doesn’t matter. The demo is where the money is.

Well, um, let’s see: We’re going to do a show with all our B people we see on other shows all the time. But this time, the twist is, there’s no real anchor! Just the B people. Well, maybe a few C+ people too.

“THE FIVE” may not be a successful answer to the hole left by Glenn Beck.
But anybody who thinks this makes Chris Matthews any more than another MSNBC stooge has a screw loose.

Solid early numbers for The Five. Small difference in demo numbers versus existing shows, more a reflection of their weak numbers of competitors of course. The show is a summer try-out so it’ll have time to grow and evolve while they determine the long-term plan.

Funny, if this show premiered on any other cable news network at any time, it’d be a huge success already. It’s brand new, and it nearly beat all competitors in demo. Fox execs must be thrilled.

Once again, Mediaite chooses to go the idiot route. ONE time slot in demo. BIG DEAL!!!

Actually, The Five does NOT suck.

I would prefer to see another liberal, and thereby see more balance. But even as it is, it is far more fair and balanced than any of the shows on CNN, HLN or MSNBC.
