New 30 Rock Character To Be “Sean Hannity In A Skirt”
Vice President of East Coast Television and Microwave Oven Programming Jack Donaghy has a new crush, and it’s a conservative TV host.
Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly reports 30 Rock’s newest guest star will be Elizabeth Banks – and she has an interesting description of the way she’ll play the character.
Here’s the description from Ausiello:
Banks, who is on board for at least four episodes (the first of which airs in February), plays a right-leaning financial guru who falls for fellow conservative Jack (Alec Baldwin) after he appears as a guest on her CNBC talk show. “She’s basically Sean Hannity in a skirt,” she explains. “What’s great about her relationship with Jack is they’re equals. She’s not some [pretty] young thing that he has a fling with. She really challenges him.
“Sean Hannity in a skirt”? Try getting that image out of your head.
It’s interesting also that the chance encounter takes place on a CNBC talk show. Obviously it stays under the NBCU umbrella, but a conservative talk show host on the network? Maybe it’s more Larry Kudlow in a skirt.
It sounds like Banks is familiar with Fox News. She recently tweeted about Brit Hume’s ‘Tiger should find Christianity‘ comment:

Anyone want to photoshop an image for us to put here?

AFP’s Tim Phillips Defends Protest Where Sick Man Was Heckled

After disturbing video emerged earlier this week from an anti-health reform rally where angry protesters screamed in the face of a sitting man who wore a sign identifying that he had Parkinson's disease (and supported the reform bill) MSNBC's Hardball brought on Tim Phillips, head of the grassroots organization Americans For Prosperity, which held the event. While Phillips condemned the actions of those individuals who berated the apparently disabled man, but said that it did not reflect most of his party's "civil" attitude during the Columbus protest.
Scott Brown On House Health Care Bill: “The Biggest Problem…Is Its Lack Of Transparency”
Last night when Chris Matthews discussed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's idea of a "Deem and Pass" to get the health reform bill pushed through Congress, his main concern was that it would open up Democrats to criticism of using evasive tactics. And he wasn't wrong: Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown was on The Situation Room tonight, already chomping at the bit to discuss the "backroom deals....political chicanery and parliamentary maneuvers" that the House majority was using to "ram this bill through."
