O’Reilly Defends Obama Peace Prize Before Calling Nobel Committee “Dopes”
Bill O’Reilly inserted himself into the debate over Barack Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize, calling out pundits who “are very agitated that the President was being honored.” O’Reilly initially distanced himself from other critics, claming that “having a US President honored with a peace prize is good for the country.” But shortly after asking for an end of partisan politics he took a surprising turn; while talking to Chris Wallace he seemed to ignore his own advice by calling the award a “charade.”
Later in the interview O’Reilly again claimed “there’s really no reason for Americans to get upset about it,” then immediately followed by calling the Nobel Committee “dopes,” and reiterating some right-wing rhetoric that he had just disavowed.

I think what Bill meant to say, and should have said better, is that a DESERVED award is good for the U.S. President to have, but that this one wasn’t deserved. This will obviously taint these awards going forward; there’s no way for them to un-ring this bell.
Bill O’Reilly inserted himself into the debate over Barack Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize…
What do you mean by this? He “inserted himself into the debate?” Because he commented on it? Gave his opinion? Does that mean that everyone who commented on it all day, “inserted themselves into the debate?” Why does it seem like there are two sets of rules… one for what Bill O’Reilly does and says (as if his words have more or less significance), and what everyone else does?
Anyway… it’s pretty obvious what O’Reilly was saying… and I think you’re drumming up a controversy where their is none. I’m sure KO will gladly talk about it on Monday… but that doesn’t mean it makes sense.
O’Reilly says an American winning the award, is a good thing.
O’Reilly says the President winning the award, is a good thing.
O’Reilly says the folks attacking Obama for winning the award, are wrong headed.
O’Reilly says the folks who awarded Obama the NPP, are dopes.
Where is the contradiction?
It’s essentially winning the football game, even though the refs blew the call. You’re happy your team won and you can put another little check in the win column… but you don’t have to ignore the fact that you didn’t win fair-and-square.
I don’t understand why people are so incensed about President Obama winning this award. It is no award to give, or your (figurative) award to give. There is a committee in Norway who decides who should receive this award. If you have a problem with it come up with your own peace prize and give it to whomever you see fit.
I meant to say “It is not my award to give, …..”
Colby certainly loves the Nobel subject. I think he’s going for a record of posting the most articles on the same subject! ;)
Did you keep watching FNC on Friday night Colby? Did you see Sean Hannity just rip Michael Moore to shreds? Where’s that article and video/transcript? Be sure you use a good headline for it like Hannity carves up Moore!
@ChrisNH, That is exactly what O’Reilly should have said and he would have been correct. O’Reilly has been trying to play both sides ever since Obama started running that is why I don’t watch him very often and I don’t take what he says seriously. He is just trying to avoid being called a racist and maybe to a lesser extent wants to be included with the “popular” kids. It is all pretty juvenile.
Mr. Nobel, in his will, deemed that Norway would handle the peace prize while all other awards would be decided by Sweden. He should have left them all with the Swedes.
O’Reilly & his followers/believers: In order to relieve your pain and stress, how about a nice… turpentine enema?? What a fun/balanced group you are! Hatred begets hatred. You have 3 full days of hatred on your hands. How will you deal with it?? Any new ideas?? Methods?? Teach the chil’rin while they’re young. Yup.
Charles Krauthammer On Health Care Bill: ‘It Will Never Be Repealed’

The House of Representatives just passed the health care bill with a vote of 219 to 212. Fox News news analyst Charles Krauthammer set up the moment quite prosaically. "This is a historic moment. This is the moment I think America changes. I don't think it will ever end up being repealed. There's no way it could happen before 2013. I think its unlikely to happen anytime at all. In terms of debt it will be huge..."
