O’Reilly Defends Obama Peace Prize Before Calling Nobel Committee “Dopes”
Bill O’Reilly inserted himself into the debate over Barack Obama‘s Nobel Peace Prize, calling out pundits who “are very agitated that the President was being honored.” O’Reilly initially distanced himself from other critics, claming that “having a US President honored with a peace prize is good for the country.” But shortly after asking for an end of partisan politics he took a surprising turn; while talking to Chris Wallace he seemed to ignore his own advice by calling the award a “charade.”
Later in the interview O’Reilly again claimed “there’s really no reason for Americans to get upset about it,” then immediately followed by calling the Nobel Committee “dopes,” and reiterating some right-wing rhetoric that he had just disavowed.
