Piers Morgan Bans Madonna From New CNN Show
So, that big Madonna interview nobody was expecting on CNN’s new Piers Morgan Tonight? Yeah, well it’s off.
The man set to replace Larry King in January has been slowly revealing the kinds of guests he’s hoping to book for the new show. Now Piers Morgan has told UK paper the Express that guests will veer closer to Barack Obama than the Material Girl. In fact, Morgan says she should consider herself banned:
She is so boring. She is too vegan for TV. We have Lady Gaga now so Madonna is banned from my show.
Still in the running for a chance to be interviewed on the new show: Mel Gibson and Jack Nicholson.
So it’s Mel: yes. Madonna: no.
And is Madonna anxiously trying to get another chance? In a word, no. Madonna’s reps telling PopEater’s Rob Shuter:
“Madonna doesn’t know who Piers Morgan is but she’s a big fan of Lady Gaga.”
If the new talk show doesn’t work out, this back and forth has morning show–or detective drama–written all over it.
