Fox News’ Shep Smith Is Not Sold On A Donald Trump Presidential Run

Video

Fox News’ Shepard Smith appeared on Don Imus‘ radio show (televised on Fox Business Channel) and was asked (or more like… “exclaimed at”) about his thoughts on Donald Trump‘s potential presidential run.

Smith seemed a bit taken aback by news that Trump might consider a run for president (he’s set to make “an announcement” in June), and even asked, “Trump for President. Donald Trump?” before adding that he didn’t really see him as a viable candidate. Imus pointed out that he’s a smart, funny guy, but would have to think twice before inviting a cavalcade of D-list celebrities to the White House. Except Bret Michaels, naturally.

Just because he’s rich (at least partially because of nepotism) doesn’t mean he’s qualified to be President. He was on Piers Morgan the other night and conjectured that Saudi Arabia might be hiding Bin Laden. If you don’t realize how ignorant and reckless that statement is, feel free to google the history between OBL and Saudi Arabia.

Shep is not the only one…I too am not sold. Certainly he has a place at the table.

  • Harry Flashman

    Meh.

I’m not sold on it either. I think Trump get a certain caliber of vocal supporter, but then, so does Ron Paul. Not the same type of supporter, but a small vocal minority nonetheless. Not enough to win with and maybe not even enough to muddy the waters.

    He can’t be elected.

(speaks like jimmy “the peanut” carter) barbour, (who dat?) huntsman, (the mustache) bolton, (a bush!!!!) jeb bush, (mr. ethanol) gingrich, (dumber than even babs boxer) santorum, (the hair) trump, (“I pardon rapists and murderers so they can rape and murder again”) huckabee, (romneycare) romney, (ignore social issues) daniels, (not again!) ron paul…..

Name a bunch of “to be” losers who have less chance of winning the presidency than my pet hamster, “little obozo”. Each of these clowns is unlikely to get more votes for president than the candidate from the “Rent is too **** high” party. Of course, that doesn’t mean one of them won’t be nominated by the “Republicans” – if they can nominate a RINO TRAITOR like NO-CHARACTER AMNESTY-JOHN mccain there is clearly NOTHING or NOBODY that they wouldn’t nominate – so my “little obozo” has a chance !

Does anyone, I mean ANYONE, really think Trump is serious? He is a media hound. Always has been, always will be. One of the biggest egos this side of the Mississippi.

  • George Sore-ohs

If he wanted it he could probably win but lets face it being President would be a step down for him.

I suggest he is just trying to get someone qualified running and then he will withdraw and back that person.

  • rover37

SHep is the dumbest person on FOX…. and he needs to come out of the closet

  • Color Me Badd

Bret Michaels for VP! Joan Rivers for SOS, Piers Morgan could be the head chef. Make it happen Trump!

Well, it’s hard to tell how much Trump is self-deluding and how much he’s just self-promoting. One thing we do know about him is he is al about “self”.

I think he’s just trying to raise his profile, get more eyes for The Apprentice. Running for President is actually really hard work. Can you imagine Trump putting that much effort in?

“Romney/Trump 2012″. I like the sound of that.

Even the Shep knows a famewhore when he sees one.

Trump’s ego would not allow him to play 2nd fiddle to anyone.

Is Imus still alive? Wow that was a shocker. Does anyone really listen to him, maybe him and Olbermorn can hook up and bore everyone.

If you live in NYC you know Trump to be an egotistical clown. But he would play second fiddle, as opposed to no fiddle, for sure.

    dandmb asks:

    “Is Imus still alive?”

Yeah. Sort of, anyway. I’m not a huge fan, but he wrote a very funny book back in the leate 70′s or early 80′s called “God’s Other Son”.

I stumbled across it in 81 or 82. Funny stuff. As far as I can tell so far, its his only redeeming quality. Funny stuff. I’ve read worse.

  • milynily

I could never past the hair, too funny.

  • Greg

Trump shared airtime with the one and only Michael Weiner this week, no more certain way to destroy legitimacy than that.

  • spookster

It’s the road-kill hair do. Not happening.

  • dahni

Ummm…. how is Trump’s ego and self-approving behavior any different than Obama’s? Except of course that Trump is a successful businessman, while Obama made his ten millions working as a ‘community organizer’, which means he got a split of all the government money (taxes from you and me) he helped the community entitlement seekers got.

I hope Trump, and Palin, both run. I expect a lot of leftist frothing during the process…. lmao

  • CAconservative

I don’t think he’d take that big a cut in pay for four years. This guy likes to party too much!

Sarah Palin would win in a landslide before Donald could squeak by with a PLURALITY of electoral votes.

Don’t forget the TWO autobiographies this young megalomaniac wrote before he was forty, including dreams from a father who abandoned him at age two…! The biggest fool in the world versus the worst hairdo…. It’d be a squeaker.
