Stephen Colbert Praises Rick Perry: He Should Show Up To Next Debate With ‘A Mouth Full Of Angry Bees’

Stephen Colbert defended Rick Perry‘s disastrous debate performance on Tuesday’s Colbert Report, saying “a president does not need to be articulate. He’s not the convincer-in-chief, he’s the commander-in-chief. And by ‘command’ I don’t mean of the English language.”

While Colbert acknowledged that Perry “defiled himself with every bodily fluid known to man other than santorum“, he gave kudos to Perry for sticking by his guns in admitting he wasn’t the smoothest talker: “So what if he’s not a slick talker! Some of our greatest presidents have been tongue tied on occasion.” Colbert then played a clip of President George W. Bush‘s infamous “If You Fool Me You Can’t Get Fooled Again” speech.

Despite Perry’s negative press, Colbert argued that voters were still firmly in his camp, showing polling data to back up his point. “Clearly America is with me on this one! CNN’s poll after his mumble-mouthed train wreck gives Perry an eight-point lead! Clearly he needs to show up at the next debate with a mouth full of angry bees!”

    Yawn.

If all you have is to denigrate the opposition, you might be in a weak spot.
We’ve seen the fashion in which your guy operates, and frankly you should be embarrassed.
    Good luck, though.

For Scary Perry to do well in the next debate, he shouldn’t show up at all!!

Colbert’s opposition? Tollbooth is getting a comedy show, same time slot as Colbert? No one will watch. Tollbooth is only funny when he’s trying to be serious.

Perry’s speech coach must have been Bush43……Very funny bit.

  • Carjacd

Hey everyone said he is like GWB…  Well everyone said Bush was borderline retarded..  So there you go…

    Like Glen Beck?

Listen closely lefties, here is your news, opinion, and talking points for the next 48 hours or so.  This and whatever Jon Stewart says or shows you in is spiced, edited, and out of context videos on his show..

The stupid people who watch FOX news will have no idea how to respond to this level of
    intellectual brilliance.

Bush giving the “fool me once” speech actually had better delivery than Rick Parry’s “Mitt Romney is a flip flopper” comment.

  • Glutton

Colbert’s endorsement should deliver South Carolina to Rick Parry, but it’s complete BS that Arizona and Florida are thinking of moving their primary dates to the same day as SC’s.  Tip of the hat wag of the finger Arizona and Florida, well played.

  • Glutton

There is no opposition my friend.  Colbert Nation is 100% behind Rick Parry.

  • Glutton

Bush is much more intelligent than Rick Parry.  Like Rick Parry said, “the difference between George Bush and myself is that he’s a Yale graduate and I’m a Texas A&M graduate.”

At the same time, we don’t need intelligence.  We need a leader who could LEAD.

  • Glutton

That wasn’t Jon Stewart buddy.  Jon Stewart is a liberal pinko.  Stephen Colbert is a red white and blue American hero.

Please provide a link to the unspiced (?), unedited, and in context clip of Perry’s flip-flopping discussion during the debate.  I would hate to make an uninformed assumption based on the one shown on Colbert….and on MSNBC…and CBS…and CNN…and Fox.

Stephen shows up each day with a mouthful of Barry’s junk!

That’s too funny, you whack job.

Colbert is an old, tired, predictable act. He’s two years beyond his expiration date.
