Thursday Cable Ratings: CNN’s Sixties Beats MSNBC’s Maddow in Demo and Total

The episode of The Sixties that focused on the war in Vietnam helped CNN score a ratings victory over MSNBC Thursday night. The 9 p.m. airing of the show drew 217K viewers in the 25-54 demo and 872K total viewers, putting it ahead of MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show, which had 188K in the demo and 868K total. Fox’s The Kelly File was #1 in the time slot with 347K in the demo and 1.967M total viewers.

The Sixties helped CNN beat MSNBC in the primetime hours over as well, with the network averaging 176K in the demo compared to MSNBC’s 171K. However, MSNBC maintained its lead in total viewers during primetime, 767K to 685K. In both categories Fox News was #1.
