Wolf Blitzer: Hillary Clinton Will Run In 2016 Because She Sees History ‘Being On Her Side’

On Wednesday, during a segment on Hillary Clinton’s political future, CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer bucked the wisdom of his guests – both of whom said they could not be certain if Clinton would run for president in four years — and said he believed that she would run. “She wants to be the first woman President of the United States,” Blitzer declared. “She sees history potentially on her side.”

Democratic strategist Paul Begala said that the political “lay of the land” in 2016 is still a guessing game, and it is unlikely that Clinton has made a decision about whether to run or not.

Former press secretary for President George W. Bush, Ari Fleischer, agreed. He also observed that she may not to run for president if it becomes clear she will face a grueling primary election process.

“Going through the primary process, I just think that’s really going to be a bar – at the end of the day, why would she want to cross that bar?” Fleischer asked.

“Because she wants to be the first woman President of the United States,” Blitzer answered. “I suspect that she will – she’s still got a lot of energy.”

“If her health is okay, I think she will run because she sees history potentially being on her side,” Blitzer observed. “I’ve never known her – I’ve known her for 20 years — as someone who gives up easily. So, that’s just my guess.”

“Write it down,” Fleischer said.
