Trump’s Deputy FBI Director Gets Ratioed to the Moon by MAGA Over Epstein Case: ‘You Failed Us’

Trump FBI Chief Dan Bongino Torpedoes His Own Past Opinions In Fox News Hit On Conspiracy Nuttery

RIP, Dan Bongino’s mentions.

On Monday night, the deputy FBI director faced the wrath of MAGA in his first post since the Department of Justice announced that the long-touted “client list” of deceased sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein did not actually exist.

Bongino, along with other top Trump officials, including Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel, had suggested the DOJ possessed damning materials from the Epstein case. On Fox News back in February, Bondi was asked, “The DOJ may be releasing the list of Jeffrey Epstein’s clients. Will that really happen?”

The attorney general replied, “It’s sitting on my desk right now to review.”

But on Monday, Axios reported that Bondi’s department concluded in a memo that Epstein did not keep a list of clients, stating that there was “no incriminating ‘client list'” and no evidence that “Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals.” The memo also echoed the already official line on Epstein’s death, stating that he killed himself by strangulation in a Manhattan jail cell while awaiting trial in 2019. Regarding the suicide, Bongino told Fox News the same thing in May.

Hours after the Axios report dropped, Bongino on X shared a screenshot of a Truth Social post by President Donald Trump, who touted an article about murder rates decreasing nationwide. Trump praised Bongino and Patel. The deputy director simply tweeted, “We are doubling down. No letting up.”

In a mere two and a half hours, Bongino received an eye-popping 10,000 replies to 2,300 retweets – many if not most of which were quote-tweets trashing him.

The top reply to Bongino’s tweet said, “You failed us.” It was followed by an impossibly long list of replies ripping the FBI’s and the DOJ’s handling of the Epstein case, which Mediaite founder Dan Abrams explained “could become a serious political liability” for Republicans after they teased the Epstein files for years.
