‘F**k You, Bill Clinton’: Gwyneth Paltrow Reveals Bill’s Brutal Reaction At White House Screening Of Her Movie

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow recalled being a little concerned when she attended a screening of her 1996 film Emma at the White House and then-President Bill Clinton snored through the Jane Austen adaptation.

In an interview on Hot Ones with Sean Evans, Paltrow, also the founder of Goop, took a break from eating spicy wings to confirm whether it’s true Clinton slept through her film.

“Is it true that Bill Clinton passed out asleep during a White House screening of Emma?” Evans asked, getting a laugh from Paltrow.

“True. He was snoring right in front of me. I was like, wow, I guess this going to be a real hit movie,” the actress joked.

She then added, “but it was, so fuck you, Bill Clinton!”

Emma went on to win an Academy Award for its score and a nomination for its costume design. It grossed approximately $22.2 million domestically on a $6 million production budget. Paltrow would go on to continue working with the studio Miramax on further films like Shakespeare in Love, The Talented Mr. Ripley, and Bounce.
