Anti-Trump Pundit Mercilessly Satirizes MAGA Charlie Kirk Reaction With Jimmy Kimmel Rant
Anti-Trump influencer Adam Mockler satirized the MAGA-world reaction to the Charlie Kirk killing in a merciless social media rant on the ouster of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel.
The media world was shaken Wednesday night by the news that ABC has suspended Kimmel’s show “indefinitely” just hours after he was targeted by Brendan Carr, President Donald Trump’s hand-picked FCC commissioner.
Kimmel was singled out for a comment he made during a monologue on Monday’s edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live:
JIMMY KIMMEL: We hit some new lows over the weekend, with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it.
During a podcast appearance on Wednesday, Carr said of the remarks, “Frankly, when you see stuff like this, I mean, look, we can do this the easy way or the hard way. These companies can find ways to change conduct and take action, frankly, on Kimmel, or there’s going to be additional work for the FCC ahead.”
Hours later, the suspension was announced.
Mockler — a Democratic influencer with the powerhouse online MeidasTouch network — used the defiant MAGA Charlie Kirk memes as the model for a series of satirical posts decrying Kimmel’s ouster.
After posting a 10-minute rant seconds after the news broke, Mockler dropped a familiar-sounding MAGA-esque tweet with a twist, writing:
You deported our neighbors in front of us. You fired veterans and stripped our families healthcare away. You killed Melissa Hortman, her husband, and her dog, then posted memes of our beautiful cities on fire. You got us fired from our jobs for simply having an opinion. Now you’re celebrating as Trump targets our favorite late night hosts. We will have power again, and we will come for you. The CEO of Sinclair will be deported, we will put Elon Musk in prison, and we will drop Trump’s Qatari jet into the ocean.
What followed was a string of posts similar to those that circulated in the hours after Kirk’s death:
It went on like this for hours, and likely will continue for some time.
