Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary Black Sabbath frontman and self-proclaimed Prince of Darkness, has died, according to a statement from the Osbourne family. He was 76.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” his family said in a statement shared with several British outlets. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
The rocker was diagnosed with Parkinson’s back in 2020, but continued to perform gigs as his health declined.
Osbourne’s death comes just weeks after he reunited with his former Black Sabbath bandmates for a farewell concert in Birmingham, England.
Osbourne met his wife Sharon, the daughter of Black Sabbath’s then-manager, in 1970. They married in 1982 and had three children: Kelly, Aimee, and Jack.
While his music career was nothing short of iconic, Osbourne also found success as a reality TV star with The Osbournes in the 2000s – an up-close and personal glimpse into his family life.
