Meghan McCain Reveals She’s Estranged from Her Ex-View Colleagues, Except for This One ‘Close’ Friend

Meghan McCain got candid about her time on The View during a recent podcast interview.

The View is tricky because it’s kind of like having an ex-boyfriend that everyone knows you broke up with. And everyone — people are just curious, cuz it’s like such an iconic show and I get it,” McCain said while seaking with TV producer Carlos King on his podcast Reality with The King.

McCain went on to say it that while it was a “privilege to be on for four years,” she has “moved on” from The View.

“I don’t watch the show at all. It doesn’t really enter my lexicon,” she said. “I don’t watch anymore and it’s too weird. It would be too weird to watch, but, um, I don’t miss it. And I think it’s because I had such a hard time. My last season, it was a really rough time in my life.”

She then began to discuss the one friendship with her former co-host that’s flourished even after her exit from the hit daytime talk show:

“[Sunny Houstin] is one of the greatest TV presences, I think in all of television. Like I have told her that I think she should host her own show eventually.”

“I don’t know why MSNBC isn’t trying to poach her for like Rachel Maddow’s slot. Like that’s how good I think she is. And I actually think she’s a really — she’s by far the most politically savvy person on that show, at least when I worked there,” McCain continued. “And she’s also the only cast member, I still have a relationship with for whatever that’s worth.”

McCain even went into detail about how she turns to Hostin for parenting advice from time to time.

“I was actually messaging her about, uh, like a month ago about some like very personal stuff about motherhood,” she said. “And I have like such love for her and I respect her and like, do we talk every day? No. But if she were like walking into the kitchen right now, I would like hug her and wanna talk to her for like few hours.”

She concluded, “So yeah, she’s a really good person and she didn’t demonize me the way a lot of other people did whatever that’s worth.”
